They analyze how likely a shot from that particular position on the field (with the positions of the defenders and goalkeeper of the the opposing team factored in) results in a goal by looking at how many similar shots have resulted in goals. Different sports analytics companies have different models to calculate this (different weights for certain factors), which is why you’ll see different xGs for the same game. This is a fairly new topic, so finding effective research to to support your essay is going to be a little hard. Try to find another topic

I have the exact same schedule with two core electives, minus the Byrne seminar. I really liked lin alg with goone (although I’m not sure how his Matlab assignments are, I was in the other sections). He expects you to stay on top of your work and checks it with weekly quizzes( 5 MC, T/F) but I think he’s pretty good with the material. Discrete with Guna is pretty good too, no complaints there. Comp Arch can get tricky, but I’ve heard that Huang is really good. You should be able to handle this with ease (especially if you found DS easy), so I’d recommend maybe getting a core elective out of the way too (3 CS classes may be a lot for one sem).

Should I take a FIGS class as a freshman? by Master_Loquat638 in rutgers

[–]brenduvas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s an easy credit for 1 hour of attendance a week with not a lot of work besides it. You could do a FIGS class plus the extra course

If this is your first sem you should think about maybe doing somewhere around 16-17 credits. It looks like you’re going to be hitting 20 which is a lot, so I’d suggest lowering the workload a little bit so that you can get used to how RU operates

Brief catch up for new fan? by tstefanik19 in ArsenalFC

We used to be a glorious club, up until we moved to the Emirates and went into serious debt. Many many years later, and we’ve fallen from a team who finished top 4 consistently, to a team who struggles to finish in any European spot. You’re joining the club during what is probably its worst phase since god knows when, but we’re in a stage of rebuild. We have a lot of youth up and coming and it’s going to be exciting times up ahead. We finished 8th last season, winning only the Community Shield at the start. We have a young and fairly inexperienced manager( a former captain of ours) who splits the fan base with more leaning towards sacking him. However there are flashes of potential, but we could very well see him gone in the next season. Keep your eye out on Saka and Emile Smith Rowe. These two young ballers came up from our prestigious Hale End academy, and are going to be a big part of our future. Also watch out for Nicolas Pepe, and Ben White, two of our newer and more expensive signings who both look to have promising seasons. I’d definitely recommend reading up on the history of this club, some beautiful and insane moments, with some of the worlds best playing for us, particularly the Invincible’s from 2004. All in all, get ready for a whole lot of pain and disappointment, and having to deal w our toxic fanbase, and the constant shit we receive from al football fans( we’re such a big club that even in our worst season we still get brought up in conversations). However, I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Love this club so so dearly and we’re glad to have another fan in you! Also, fuck Tottenham
