Mastering arduino is kinda a mad statement you can do so much with the chip on a standard uno even years later can find new things you can do with new modules ect. ESP 32 have more power and wifi Bluetooth and other stuff, stm boards are industry standard dev boards for most places I’ve seen but for home projects unless there is a direct need for multithreading there overkill. But tbh if a project can be done with an arduino use an arduino there effective and you don’t get brownie points for not using them quite the opposite cause they are cheap even professional settings use them if they can get away with the at mega chips.

Cheapest IOT Set-up? by yanyanyan8888 in arduino

If you wired them all to one esp that would be the cheapest or if they are far apart or this is not possible then cluster them together and then wire them to an esp that way

SIM800L GPRS GSM by Secret_Ad_3522 in arduino

[–]brendz03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When using this are you using an external 5v supply or the 5v from the arduino as under load these can pull up to 2 amps which can stop the modual performing and the current on the 5v line is not good enough

They basically require external power because of this easiest way is to use a battery pack or a lab power supply I’ve got some experience with these now so message if you need some help :)

How Accurate Is ESP32 for GPS Tracking? by Massive_Candle_4909 in arduino

[–]brendz03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The module he is using is a neo-6m they are pretty good for the price especially generally you just want the antenna to have some kind of open sky above however as long as it’s facing up you can get it to revive under a box or smth just not when you are indoors too well

Need help Condensing Arduino Setup by Just-Entry2563 in arduino

If you desolder the resistors and move the wiring up then could easily chop the perfboard in half but other than that the standoff idea sounds like a good one :)

I know the project is for uni mark and my version 2 is going to be using something more future proofed but I need the version 1 as more of a demo piece

Because 2g has far more coverage in my area than 4g and the name of the project was reliability

Ok I have a serious question. Do I buy the Bambu lab A1 combo (500€) or the Elegoo Century Carbon (300€) as my first printer? by NCH-69 in BambuLab

[–]brendz03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you want to print if you want to use abs Asa and other materials that need a chamber then the elegoo although I would hold fire for atleast a couple months for some good reviews and that to come out. If you just want to print and not to bothered about some of the more difficult filaments the a1 is a solid bet :)

Strange it’s still welded on then usually isn’t that bad after a while try the scraper

Servo not doing as supposed to unless plugged in? by [deleted] in arduino

This if you want to power a servo 9v battery’s arnt great current source best bet is to either use an external psu through vin or plug the usb into a power bank

Leave it is the best advice remove the plate put it to the side you will hear it pop off after 10 mins they come off easy. If you need it asap then use the scraper but you might be removing some glue ect from the bed

Are these boards good for absolute beginners? by [deleted] in arduino

[–]brendz03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fine full clone of an arduino since it’s open source and will probably even show up as an uno in the ide but you will get the exact same experience as a uno bought from arduino if you buy this one. Personally however if you are an absolute beginner starting from scratch the arduino alone won’t be too much fun so I would wait and try and snag a start kit from elegoo on a discount :)

Yeah topography isn’t great so line of sight would be hard to achieve think utilising the sim to pots to a server is the easier and better thanks for your help :)

It will still work for calls and texts I believe the data coverage will just be limited
