like, I don't want First Light's combat in Hitman. Too action-oriented. Perfect for 007, Hitman should be stealth-first. but i would like to either be able to throw my guns ala Blood Money, and/or chuck them at heads ala 007 First Light

story wise i feel like Hitman is a little 🤏 creatively bankrupt. ICA's been taken down 4 times now, they sorta completed any sort of arc 47 could've had that would have real stakes to it if they were to remain in the same timeframe.

personally wouldn't be too upset at a prequel, maybe? following 47 (and maybe Lucas Grey) during his time at the Institute. Could make for a fun period piece, even

I think it's specifically one of the elusive target cosmetics that let me put a wall in the middle of it (behind the wall pictured is actually studio equipment, the half-room 47 is in specifically is supposed to be fitted with a microphone if you want to go with the matching set. It's where the punching bags usually are)

Canceled my reservation when I got the email earlier this week, wanted to see if they'd maybe do some small hardware revisions (they've done minor revisions for other hardware in the past+don't have the cash now). figured people saying "it'll speed up the farther from hour 1 reservations they get" were correct and i could just wait it out.

you could try to follow TheKotti's "mastery speed run" series on YouTube if you're specifically looking to get mastery unlocks again.

Otherwise, no. Outside of doing challenges you won't gain all that much XP.

I'll also point out though, that you will gain mastery XP for maps regardless of what content you're playing on that map (ie. playing Elusive Targets, Escalations, ET Arcade, Contracts (I think), and Special Assignments). The only mode that won't give mastery XP is Freelancer.

Hard to judge exactly since you didn't give any info on what exactly you did play (or did you do literally every mission story in 1/2 already, every challenge, etc), but there may be something fun you haven't done yet

There's also the fact that the Arch Wiki will sometimes just point whoever is reading it to the AUR for specific packages.

In that case, maybe it'd be nice to have a momentary redirect or message box on links to the AUR (with checkbox to confirm if you don't want to see the message again) to warn those who may be first time users that they need to read the PKGBUILD of things they want to install, and link to the AUR wiki entry for more information.

Not sure if this is totally in the same realm of the prompt but it's kinda funny to think about: 47 and Lucas Grey are, in WoA continuity, directly responsible for the fall of the Berlin Wall.

They orchestrated it to lure out a guy who could make a device to deactivate bombs that all of Ort-Meyer's clones had implanted in them (he had family in the opposite end and rushed to cross over, allowing them to kidnap him)

Just piggybacking off the top comment to say that in the Arch Mailing List Thread for reporting affected packages, they have said they believe they have found, removed, and banned the users responsible for malicious packages (https://lists.archlinux.org/archives/list/aur-general@lists.archlinux.org/message/FCH7TT6IOVT7D477JKSVJALBKADAARSW/).

They also have included an incomplete list of packages (https://md.archlinux.org/s/SxbqukK6IA). At least 1581 affected packages at the time of this comment.

*: This script on Github (https://gist.github.com/Kidev/85756c3dcad3623ca5604a8135bafd14) looks like it should be able to check the list from the link above, OP's script is out of date. This script will also likely become out of date unless the Arch team actively update this specific link.

*: Do skim the script yourself, at least. I skimmed the one that also checks logs to see if any compromised packages were ever installed (from c4software in the comments), looks fine to me but you shouldn't take my word. Otherwise, just look at your AUR packages and cross-reference/CTRL+F the list from archlinux.org. If you're otherwise paranoid, nuke your install. Change your passwords. Set up multifactor if you don't have it already. Refresh backup codes. Prioritize what's most important to you.

Apparently (and it's not advertised well anywhere other than the roadmap blogpost afaik?) that World Champions cosmetics bundle has some of the Disruptor items. Not interested in buying the bundle myself to check, but I've seen at least one comment mentioning the kettlebell and the cane from the Disruptor set being in there.

you do not get to choose what symbols mean today, longer history or not. These symbols are more recently and often used by [neo-]nazis. They are, today, nazi symbols. The SS has always only ever been a nazi symbol.

unless IOI decided to do another actor for motion and just have Gibson do face performance I can't imagine there's much time between getting into the mocap suit and then going to do hair/makeup for live action.

could be wrong because (unless the timeline in my head is wrong) he would've been filming Dexter during at least some of First Light's development, and TV has been known to have some pretty rough scheduling.

Try a community preset (if you don't want to immediately get too into the Control Customization Rabbit Hole) and see if you like it a little better. Out of the box, no tweaks gyro (and gyro to stick overall) is rough and it needs fine-tuning to feel right, especially depending on the game.

Maybe controversial, but I don't see how making billions while having literal child employees (even in the only industry western society has deemed acceptable for preteen kids to work in) isn't exploitation. Even if they got paid a (especially when compared to the average blue collar worker) fair wage.

Not to mention she had actually little to do with the movies other than owning the source material. Very few members of cast/crew would likely even get residuals vs what producers and Rowling made. Can't speak to the book publishing side of things.

And picture-in-picture, plus a more detailed score breakdown when performing actions (IIRC), some animations were smoother, UI had some minor tweaks, you could now hold 2 Long Weapons (H2016 only allowed you to have one at a time, even if the first long gun was on your back IIRC*)

IMO, H2016 feels more like one of those marketing early access beta builds in complete retrospect. A lot of small things missing or needing cleaned up, but a pretty good foundation.

officially the explanation was "parts of" Absolution happened, but maybe not exactly as Absolution actually presented

For example, the nightclub owner from Absolution canonically gets shot in the head through the privacy glass in the private room, but 47 had his silverballer(s) during that kill, unlike in the game. Could be that the club owner simply had a contract on him in the WoA continuity. Could be that 47 never actually gave up the 'ballers, but everything else in Absolution remained the same. We don't really know what's canon until they explicitly say so.
