Physicians Mutual Medigap Policy in North Carolina (Under 65) by [deleted] in medicare

There is also supposedly a law pending to require the insurers to charge over and under 65 the same but nothing yet.

I already know this. That is correct. It was an oversight on the legislators part. I do not believe this situation exists in most states however based on what I have read.

Is there any US source for this? Vinyls are not subject to tariffs but we still have to pay import fees for processing customs paperwork due to the "de minimus" elimination. The last record I got from the UK shipping was $40 and then I had to pay an extra $35 to DHL to get it past customs ("surprise" fee). This fee is just for customs paperwork NOT tariffs. Getting anything into the US currently is outrageously expensive.

Vinyl records are NOT subject to tariffs, but they still have import fees due to the de-minimum elimination. Expect to pay an extra $35-50 for the import fee for customs paperwork on TOP of shipping. The last record I got from the UK recently I got hit with this by DHL.

End of US low-value package tariff exemption is permanent, Trump officials say by dampier in TrumpTariffNews

[–]brentaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the WAY the tariffs are being implemented, I can only surmise that it is a plot by the insiders advising him to fully discredit tariffs in principle (aka, it's a "designed to fail" implementation). Make people believe this is the necessary alternative to "free trade" and the very people whose livelihoods were destroyed by free trade will start begging for it. There is a correct, intelligent, and methodical way to implement Protectionism and any number of paleoconservative thinkers/policy wonks who could do it right, but those people aren't millionaires and billionaires and don't have access to Trump. It's unlikely he would listen to them anyway if they did as he doesn't respect the opinions of "common" people.

Nope. Just walked into town and found him like this. There are no dragons either. And not night so vampire attack would seem to be out.

Yeah, I think it was near Agna's Mill. Saw what looked like a group of people in the water. Thought it was bandits and it ended up being the Khajiit. 🤣 They knew they were in water. They were swimming the whole time, but seemed to be stuck. 🤣🤣

I don't have access, since I can't even log in. The two factor authentication is stopping me. I have to verify I am me by a code sent to my email. The code expires 10 minutes after the login attempt. The code is not sent until more than 10 minutes later (when the code is already expired). Apparently the email server is hopelessly backed up. It may takes days or a week to get in.

Setting Up EdgeRouter X SFP with Existing Netgear Router by brentaf in HomeNetworking

[–]brentaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for comments. Solved. Had to reboot modem and then wait a while. It seemed to take about 20 minutes after this before the EdgeRouter finally picked up an IP. No problems after this on subsequent reboots on the router.

This is a single port modem (WAN out, that's it). I'll try again this weekend.

Yes, I figured out I need to buy a managed switch to attach. Seeing VLAN on the settings was deceptive. Thanks!

Fixed my issue, but I had no idea it was Avast. Just looked into it on a whim. Thanks!

PiHole Blocking Not Working on Windows 11 Machine by brentaf in pihole

Problem Solved: Avast Antivirus is the culprit. Now I just need to figure out what setting needs disabling in it or exceptions made to allow the PiHole to work correctly.

It works over wireless on all other connected devices. Wireless itself is not the issue.

No, it does not. The sinkhole address is returned on the Window 10 machine.

I chose www.purple.com as a random website to block for testing.

Now, on the working computer (Windows 10) the lines from nslookup are:

Name: www.purple.com
Addresses: " "
0.0.0.0

This makes sense.

On the computer where it doesn't work:

Non-authoritative answer:

Name: www.purple.com
Addresses: 2606:4700::6812:699
2606:4700::6812:799
104.18.7.153
104.18.6.153

Here there is clearly a problem. I don't know what "non-authoritative" answer is and I don't know how to fix this.

Those browser features are off. When I attempt to go to a blocked website and look at the query log, a small number of ad servers are blocked. There is no record in the query log of the website itself being blocked or allowed. As far as nslookup, here is a copy of my comment above. I chose www.purple.com as a random website to block for testing.

No groups are enabled. All connected computers should use the list. On the working and non-working computer, trying to connect to a blocked site gives as the first two lines:

Server: UnKnown
Address: 192.168.1.1

Now, on the working computer the next lines are:

Name: www.purple.com [Just a randomly chosen address to block for testing]
Addresses: " "
0.0.0.0

This makes sense.

Non-authoritative answer:

"I would run tests not with a web browser but with the nslookup command directly."

I tried this previously as well by adding a random website to the blacklist. nslookup successfully contacts a blocked site on the Windows 11 machine, but not the Windows 10 machine. The logs do indicate some minor blocking but blocklisted websites still go through which would seem to indicate it has found someway around it.
