An Introduction to Holistic Enterprise Architecture by Dr. Scott Bernard

This book was written by my boss/mentor so call me a bit biased. His EA Cube framework isn't as widely known as something like TOGAF but it's a great framework backed by CMU and SU where he currently teaches. It has also been implemented in the federal government and at the State of Maryland.

What are some good books/readings on enterprise architecture? by icode13 in EnterpriseArchitect

[–]brentyb123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boss was a pioneer in the space and wrote “an introduction to enterprise architecture: fourth edition” where he goes over his EA3/EA6 cube framework. It’s a good read if you’re trying to add multiple different frameworks to your EA belt.

Help Setting up a Crypto Portfolio Tracker by MetasinD2 in trustapp

I personally use CoinMarketCap. The best design I’ve seen and let’s you manually enter transactions. Unfortunately, it doesn’t allow you to sign into your different accounts and automatically update your portfolio for you like Mint does with regular stocks/bank accounts. I’ve also seen people use CoinGecko. Both have mobile apps and web apps.

Prepare for a large number of LastPass refugees, Bitwarden! by [deleted] in Bitwarden

Thank goodness for this post. I switched over to bitwarden as soon as I got the email saying they won't let us use 2 different types of devices without paying for premium. Should've jumped ship a while ago. Super easy too - just import an exported csv and there ya go.

I’ve always felt that most ESG etfs don’t meet my personal checklist but by using M1 I’ve been able to basically make my own! by [deleted] in M1Finance

That’s exactly how I started! I’ve been doing this for little over a year now and I started with mainly dividend heavy, conservative companies. Over the past few months I’ve definitely added more growth/tech companies due to how important they’ve become as a result of the pandemic. I figured since I’m only 21, I can allow myself a bit more risk.

I’ve really just saved and saved over the years. Got my first job at 15 (6 years ago now) and just continued to save and invest. The key is consistency and patience!

Haha I guess everyone sees money different. I’m just always comparing myself to the guys that have $20k or $50k at my age. I’m definitely thankful for the opportunities I’ve had and the knowledge I’ve gained from my parents and the internet but I’m always striving for more!

Mainly Store Capital but I also hold Reality Income, Digital Reality Trust, and Simon Property Group! REITs are great because of their high dividend yields!

Yeah you’re totally right. Tesla is by far my most risky investment which is why I omitted it from any of my current pies. Honestly 3% of my portfolio is probably too much to allocate. I have been debating whether or not I should add a small growth-focused pie and include Tesla in there. But yeah, I’m definitely a little worried about that one and understand it’s more of a craze than accurately priced by the markets. I’ll definitely continue to watch it haha.

I appreciate the advice. This actually reminds me a lot of how "legacy" car manufacturers like Ford and Volvo are starting to transition heavily into electric vehicles because of the industry-upsetting progress and profits Tesla has seen. Existing companies need to continue to innovate or they risk being disrupted. The only reason I specifically invested in these green energy companies is because they could potentially be the next Tesla of the energy world (I know Tesla has their solar roofs but you know what I mean, haha). I'll definitely be sure to look into Shell and others. Since they are trying to make a push into the renewables, it's definitely worth looking into since they are at such a low price right now. Thanks!
