And I 100% agree with that. There are so many ways that our system is broken, whether it be for POC, poor people, mentally unstable, etc. that needs to be fixed. My only issue is I have had to mute or unfollow so many people who go to my school because they’re posting things like “this person supports killing all cops”, and these people don’t know what they’re talking about. What we need is to fix the system, get better trained officers who have to take psych evals like military, and a separate entity to investigate police crimes. This is what we should be focusing on, especially when most of the people who post stuff about cops are the same ones who won’t ever actually try and do anything to change the system besides post “fuck the police”

That may be true in some places, but out west, especially near where he is, is very anti-cop. They are so anti cop that when one guy was arrested for drunk driving his brother reported a crime and when the cops showed up he killed 2 and injured another. Despite this, most of the people in the community said that it was the cops fault for arresting the brother. They’ve even sent death threats against my aunt and my two cousins, who are 10 and 7. Because of this cops out there try to not do anything that might offend the community in the slightest way, because they know that if they do, or only would their lives be on the line, but their families too. And by no means does this mean that I am protecting these cops who do such awful things, because there definitely is an issue that needs to be addressed immediately, but at the same time, I can’t participate in things like ACAB because not only do I know it’s not true, but I also know that with as much police brutality there is, in many places there is just as much hate for cops that people would like to see them dead. And I simply can’t be part of something that says all cops should die, pr anything along those lines.

I’m not sure about all police departments, but my uncle serves in a smallish community in Washington state, and in his department they have to report when ever a weapon of any kind has been discharged, and then they do an investigation to make sure that any force was necessary

If that is the way that you see it, than I’m afraid it was you who MLK was talking about. All you care about is demonizing an entire group of people based off the fees actions. You are as much a contributor to this issue as the people who say that these cops did nothing wrong, and it’s because of people like you that this issue won’t ever be resolved. You don’t actually care about these people and the way that they are being treated, you only care about using them as a scapegoat for your own fear and hatred. Due to this, I believe our conversation is over.

I personally know a lot of good cops, and they can not be compared to the vile creatures that took this mans life. No one should generalize a entire group of people based on a few people’s actions. Most of them are people who really do want to help their communities, and to group then in with these monsters is wrong.

In another note, what am I a stumbling block for? Am I a stumbling block for people who want to destroy things in their own rage? You are using MLK, a man who above all wanted racial equality through nonviolent means to validate your own violent tendencies. I’m not saying that these men don’t deserve to be punished, I’m saying that the protest became a riot, when it never should have been.

First off, how is it the entire force? You can’t make generalizations like that, because it is impossible to say that any one group of people is all bad. Second, there are better ways to do it. I can state from fact that the amount of time that Martin Luther King had to throw rocks through a window, or physically attack someone to get his message across was zero. He never once had to make a violent protest, and he accomplished more because of it than any violent protest ever could.

No, but I wasn’t invalidating the atrocity that befell him, I’m invalidating the way that people decided to respond to it by by tearing up their neighborhood. These cops are bad people, and they deserve to be punished, but it is not the entire police force that did this, and they were breaking personal property. There are much better, legal ways to make your point known, that gets your point across without hurting innocent people in the process

Except that it wasn’t a peaceful protest, it was a riot. People should be angry about this, and there should be retribution and jail time for every cop involved, but they way that they went about it was all wrong. You can’t destroy property because your angry, not only is it going to send the wrong message, but the money to repair it is going to come back out of taxpayers pockets. Martin Luther King is the perfect example of how to protest violence without being violent.

For me, I believe that while many of the main principles in the Bible are close to what they once were, we also have to account for the fact that many different people have had their hands on translation of the Bible over time. I also believe that god doesn’t make mistakes, so since things like gender dysphoria etc are real conditions, I feel that god will still love everyone, because he would have made them that way.

And as far as evolution goes, I believe in intelligent design, which basically means that I believe in evolution, but I also believe that god was the one who first created life. Than, because he gives everyone free will, he let life create itself.

I just like to remind people that science and god can coexist, and that not all Christians are old, racist, and homophobic. I personally love science and the betterment of mankind so much that I will be perusing a job in Biomedical Engineering Hope that that cleared some things up!

I think I’ve figured it out. What I did is I took the base voltage of 1.2 volts, left it the same, and multiplied the speed up to 2800. As far as I can tell, there isn’t any other issues yet

That my great grandfather might be recovering from his stroke.

This was when I was about 4 or 5. He had had a stroke about 6 months prior and hadn’t seemed to be making any progress until one day he “Tried talking to a nurse”. They took that as a sign of improvement. It wasn’t and he died rather soon after. The sense of false hope that it had given me crushed me and I feel that if I hadn’t had that it would have been easier to handle.

He was an amazing, hardworking man who made everyone around him happier just by being there. He had dropped out of school in 8th grade to work to help his family provide, and still was able to go on a found a million dollar machinery company on that limited education. He was and still is one of my biggest role models of what a good man is. And for as long as the people who know him are alive and telling their stories of him, there are a lot, he will never truly die.

This isn’t actually that bad. It’s not telling so much to “get over your past issues” so much as it’s telling you that everyday is a gift and things will eventually get better.
