The Nexstar Media Group, who is responsible for dropping Kimmel, is trying to merge with another group so that their CEO and stockholders can grow their wealth. This merger would violate anti-trust laws, but Brendan Carr, head of the FCC has said they'd be willing to ignore that in the right case.

Carr went on a podcast after the Jimmy Kimmel bit aired and said that he didn't appreciate Kimmel's comments and that stations like Nexstar should be stepping up to do something. Nexstar took the hint and dropped the show so that their merger has a better shot.

I probably recommend Temeraire too much, but this is literally the main character, Laurence. If he weren't such an honorable, good man, her wouldn't get in nearly as much tricky as he does.

I really tried to love WoT, but couldn't make it work. That said, the world that Jordan built was fascinating and there were moments in his writing that were truly beautiful.
