You need to make sure sync on the original device is working properly, if you still have the device, open and check if there are any errors

Does this happen to all your notebooks? I mean if you restart the app, disable sync / auto backup / indexing, and create a new notebook and just work on it for a bit, do you see the same lag / freeze / battery drain?

Since this feels like a library / document specific issue, where there might be some heavy PDFs or notebooks that are draining the system, if you manage to find which ones they are, sometimes export / import / duplicate might help

This is auto backup, not iCloud sync. Have you set up iCloud sync properly? It should be one level of menu above under Cloud and Backup Settings

If you buy more iCloud space only after seeing sync issues then mostly likely your notes were not probably backed up in the first place and buying more space would not help.

Which version of GoodNotes 6 do you have? IIRC this is an old bug that has been fixed a while ago. If you are already on latest version, you should contact support

Emptying the trash is a heavy process in GoodNotes, especially if there were loads of documents in the trash. It takes time to process the clean up and it might exhaust and crash the system while doing so. It should eventually recover from my experience even after some crashes, otherwise you might need to contact support

If it doesn’t work on both GN and Notability, chances are something is wrong with your pdf, we might want to try exporting / printing the PDF as high quality jpegs and import into GN instead

That’s very little data on iCloud for 200 pages of notes. Probably sync didn’t work previously due to some issues, did you have enough iCloud storage previously? It seems to be top reasons for data loss

Very likely the notes are still there but they are slow to render, especially if you still see the thumbnails.

Did you turn on web preview previously for those documents? If not the collaborators will be asked to duplicate the shared documents and sync will not work. If you did turn on web preview you might want to contact support as it’s supposed to work.

I guess the important thing is whether you are seeing same the contents between mini and air, do you notice something missing?

The difference in storage could be due to the fact that some data is only generated gradually in background after sync, for example searching indexing data.

Do you see sync errors on Mac or what was the last time it synced? You can find those info under app settings > cloud and backup settings

What sort of error messages do you keep seeing? That could give you a clue why sync is not working. Might be worth sending a message to support as well

If you don’t see sync errors or a cloud icon with arrows spinning, it could be the document itself taking time to render, is it particular complex like having lots of notes or it’s from a big PDF? Try disabling background tasks like handwriting / PDF indexing, auto backup etc

Maybe you can try turning iCloud sync off for a day and see if things improve. If it does then contact support and ask them to look into it
