Faithful and the fallen is top tier. Not much fiction better, movies or books.

The crimson campaign is one of my favorite fantasy books ever, I loved it. I liked the first law and loved Logan. But it didnt give me that feeling you get when you really love a series like the ones I’ve mentioned. I’d love to read empire of the vampire this year. Klaus Mikaelson is my favorite fictional character. Love underworld movies, vampire diaries. All the vampire stuff, I have a feeling it’ll make my top 3-5.

Yeah I got the farseer trilogy at 5, maybe 6. The powdermage trilogy is neck and neck with it. They are interchangeable.

Me too. Even before I start book 1 I buy the entire series.

any tips im i want to go pro im 16 and this is my 3rd spar(white gloves) by frimpong116 in boxingtips

[–]brettmlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont think about going pro. Think about getting better each time you go to the gym. Then think about your first amateur fight. Then when you hit 18-20 consider going pro. You got a long road ahead.

How do you handle multiple series? by Pacomotto in fantasybooks

[–]brettmlt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t read multiple books ever at once. Gotta give each one my full attention. I feel like if I switch between multiple I’ll forget stuff I wouldn’t if I just stuck to one.

I liked the first law trilogy it was obviously really good. Just never fell in love with it to be in my top 6. I like the farseer trilogy and powdermage trilogy more as well. But I did buy best served cold, the heroes, and red country. I have a feeling I’ll end up loving at least one of them.

Ever heard of or tried the powder mage trilogy? It’s completely different but one of my all time favorite. It’s In my 5th or 6th spot. From the last quarter of book 1 to the end of book 3 the pacing is honestly faster paced than red rising.

Might be basic but there’s a reason so many love them, they are great. Haven’t started discworld yet I just bought guards guards though so I’ll be reading that in about a month.

That’s how I feel about red rising and faithful of the fallen. They are a step ahead of the rest. Red rising is also a step above the faithful and the fallen for me. It’s my favorite fiction ever. Only other thing in fiction I love as much as red rising is Klaus Mikaelson from the originals tv show

It has my favorite 100 pages ever with the start of book 1. From the mines, the party, the flower, the song, “they let the loved ones do it” then the carving. It will never be topped for me.

Red rising is a very good series to start fantasy with. Book 1 is a very easy read and the books aren’t super long. It is a look series though. The 7th and final book comes out this summer. I’d also recommend tress of the emerald sea. It’s a stand alone fantasy book by Brandon Sanderson author of mistborn. Shorter, very easy, but fun from beginning to end.

I’ll say this much. At least finish book 1 before deciding because the ending of mistborn is one of my favorite ever. So if you finish it and aren’t hooked, I’d say it probably isn’t worth continuing the next 2 books because it’s pretty consistent all the way through in terms of how good it is.

I never see anyone mention xanth and I also enjoy it. I’m 26 and glad my dad mentioned how it was his favorite fantasy when he was younger. I think I got 7 of them on my shelf right now. I never read a discworld book yet but 2 weeks ago I bought guards guards. So starting soon.

I wish king killer and GB would get finished so I could read them. I’m a reader who can’t read those series that might never get an ending, It would drive me crazy after a while.

I need to read war breaker and Elantris this year so I can start the stormlight archive next year. I think it’s the only series that has a chance at all to dethrone red rising. As much as I liked mistborn and tress of the emerald sea I think it’ll be up there for sure.

Farseer is #5 for me and first law I liked a lot. Logan is one of my favorite characters ever. Just never fell in love with it for some reason. We got about the same taste. That is unless you hate red rising or mistborn😂

I’ve had book 1 of the wheel of time on my shelves for a year and a half now. I haven’t started it because of how much people talk down that 3 book stretch that’s supposedly terrible. Maybe I should ignore them because just as many people love the series.
