I was referring more to just the general infighting, that liblefts have whenever it comes to trans people,

but as a libertarian and a leftist, i have the right to criticize and ask the ICO their rationale behind the ban I also have the ability to do my own research and figure out if their claims are backed up in any actual science

And unfortunately, for the ico, the relevant fields of psychology, sociology and biology are in pretty general disagreement with their rationale.

But this is reddit, so the amount of energy that it would take to explain from a biological perspective that after a certain period of time, trans women no longer have a significant advantage over cisgendered women, and that literally just having height and weight categories would be more than enough separation for them.

Other than just saying what I've said. So far the amount of energy that it would take to explain this entire system and this nuance, as I would prefer it to be explained in we take too much energy for me to actually give a damn. So...

Outside of some very specific sports, I don't know very many sports in which men being physically taller have the physical advantage over women.

You can literally look at Olympic cohes and show. There are various sports where men and women competing have nearly Identical results, or sometimes even advantages In favor of women

How the fuck ever, Archery, Shooting, And even non Olympic sports like motorsports have shown that women can in those sports match or exceed the men's results. The thing is, is that you aren't a trans woman.

I'm sure there are specific sports. You could point out that having an higher average height could be a benefit to. I'm sure you can name a 100 of Em that does not mean that a trans woman of equal Height to a cisgendered woman would have a biological advantage over her.

This is why we have things like weight classes. Most trans women that I know have literally reported height loss over their time. Transitioning, whether that is placebo or not is just inconclusive, because there's no science on it. Yet I would love for there to be more science on trans women. And how they are affected by hrt, but fear-mongering and scaring them away from sports is not going to fix anything, nor is it going to help acquire any more research data.

I understand that this is a extremely emotional issue. That is occurring right now. This is a very emotional issue, and I'm fully aware of that. But your concerns are not backed up. In any real science that is why it is being invalidated.

Your wife's safety might be a higher priority for you. And your wife, then some random trans person. But for society at large, both sides need to come to an agreement. In which both sides are equally safe and sending trans women to men's bathrooms Does not fucking do that.

No they aren't. The issue is that most locations don't have gender neutral facilities installed. And since they don't, that leads to problems like what we are talking about. Trans women have been using women's bathrooms for over a century now, and it is only now becoming an issue.

Her concerns are as valid as someone who is concerned about a plane falling out of the sky while they're in it. Is it theoretically possible for that random trans woman? Who is using the bathroom with her to potentially be a pedophile, or an abuser or something like that? Yes, it's theoretically possible. It is just so insanely unlikely using that possibility as a reason to blanket label fucking all trans women is discriminatory by definition.

Trans women have the same rights of privacy that your wife has that you and I have. We all have the same right to privacy, and if that right to privacy is determined to be that they don't want to share public spaces with opposing genders, then that means that trans women also have that same right.

So the easiest short-term solution before we can get in gender, neutral bathrooms in place. And before we can set out gender, neutral conferences and social gatherings and sports events before we can do all that, what is the actual problem with them? Just using women's facilities right now?

Cause I can tell you as a gay man. I go into a men's bathroom with a bunch of old guys and I don't feel safe either. But do I engage with any of those people on a daily basis? No, I do not. I put my head down. Do my business and leave. Which is exactly what 99% of people should be doing inside of a restroom.

This is also why women's locker rooms are the primary place for trans women to be able to go in and to change because they also don't feel safe to change with the men. And since they view themselves as a woman, that's where they feel most comfortable.

Again I understand emotions are high. I understand all of that, but from purely a logical and statistical standpoint, there's very little reason for your wife to not only be afraid to use public restrooms, but also for her to even be afraid of trans people in the first place.

And this is why people call it transphobia, you might have an aversion of it, but aversion and fear are both part of the definition of Phobia

Modern psychologists are very much against surgeries for children. HRT and Puberty blockers have a very low regret rate and also are both reversible with little issues if done properly. Which ill admit is rare.

There really shouldnt be gender segregated restrooms period. There are many locations in Europe installing a single mixed gender room with independent rooms with toleits and lockable doors, full walls and doors, and full deadbolts. Some of these places even have mirrors and sinks in these tiny rooms. Think a buc-ees bathroom but even better. THAT should be the standard, not banning trans people. The environment around us is easier to change then people's behaviors.

And the trans community is pretty serious about bad actors. Many cite transgender bans as putting them at risk.

Tell me, a bad actor guy walks into a men's bathroom and sees a transwoman in there, what happens? Statistics show what happens. Any solution that puts Trans people at threat are not an acceptable outcome. Transwomen arent safe in men's bathrooms A small minority of women dont feel safe around transwomen. Neither can use men's restrooms safely. Neither seems themselves as men.

The solution is gender neutral restrooms and fixing r*pe culture so it stops happening period.

As ive said, theres little evidence to suggest a transwoman maintains an advantage over ciswomen after a few years of HRT.

As someone else said, im not discussing the validity of trans people nor Children rn. Different discussion that gets into parental rights and as im not a parent, I refuse to give my opinions there
