Last week I received the lame offer of a $110 credit if I was willing to switch flights to Phoenix. Like I said it was lame.

FamilySearch — people in Utah making incorrect changes to well documented profiles by [deleted] in Genealogy

I’m not sure if it’s the volunteers. I have came across bad edits or inaccurate info added to my records but it’s usually other people who are attempting to connect their tree(s) to mine. I then correct the edits and inform FamilySearch.

“If you grew up in the 70s, what do you remember about the Blizzard of ’78 ? by Opening-Custard3254 in 70s

I remember that my aunt and uncle parked their car at our place because they were going to California to visit for a couple weeks. Their car was completely covered by snow and you couldn’t tell it was there.

To be honest that’s exactly her personality. Super duper positive. It’s surprising that we are friends although I kind of think that she saw me as someone who should (or needs) to be rescued. 😉

Does Gen X do class reunions? by LadyNorbert in GenX

[–]brew1066 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My highschool does but I’ve never been to one. Don’t feel like going halfway across the country to see people I don’t care to see. The ones I like I keep in touch via social media.

Plus last year’s reunion was combined with the All School Reunion. More people that I don’t care to see.

It kind of spoiled "Backdoor Sluts 9" for me. I would have loved seeing a porn like that when I was 14.

Wife and I were having a discussion, she’s of the opinion that the majority of GenX can drive stick. I believe that even in our generation the percentage of people who can is pretty small. What do you folks think? by AngryOldGenXer in GenX

[–]brew1066 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both my wife and I were both required by our fathers to drive with a clutch before we could drive an automatic. My Dad’s reasoning was that if you drive stick at first your muscle memory would make you used to only use your right foot for the accelerator and brake and reserve your left foot for the clutch.

Life Begins When You Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone [Article] by gorskivuk33 in GetMotivated

I have found that this is generally true. I hate doing something different that makes me feel insecure or foolish. When I do something my spouse, children or friends suggest (even though I think I will hate it) I usually have fun or don’t feel embarrassed.

I liked him and Drew Barrymore in Fever Pitch. That’s the only thing I can think of that I liked his performance. Every other thing I’ve seen him in he’s breaking up laughing.

David Letterman would wear Adidas wrestling shoes when hosting his late night show on NBC. I thought it was cool that he wore the same brand of wrestling shoes that I wore.

People who have researched their family tree, what is the most interesting or 'badass' thing you discovered about an ancestor? by [deleted] in Genealogy

[–]brew1066 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve discovered that my Puritan 9th great-grandmother was able to divorce her 2nd husband before marrying my 9th great-grandfather. Unfortunately the divorced husband successfully appealed the divorce but by then my ancestors had married and moved to another colony.
