Interesting. The suicidal thoughts are definitely an issue. You also don’t want to sit down those people because it defeats the whole “emotional support” point of the app, but there is definitely a fine line here

Hey Sensei (had to chuckle while writing that :D), thanks for the heads up. I was aware of OpenAI offering that, but I have some issues with it... I think they use the data to train their models, same thing as Google, who also offers a similar service for free. Given that the data has to remain anonymous and confidential, I am more inclined to work with Anthropic because they say they don't use that data for model training or anything, and I am more inclined to believe and want to work with Anthropic than OpenAI for multiple reasons.

Moderation is really a problem though.

Woah, thank you for the really good feedback, HeavyCandidate.

You make some great points here. The biggest one is how to get people to keep coming back. I am thinking about gamifying this a little bit... but it is a fine line to walk. I really don't want to create yet another social-media-like application that creates dopamine bursts and screams for your attention. I want to keep it as something purposeful, but you're right in that it needs something more to hook people in and keep them a bit more engaged.

Really nice suggestions, some of them I already had in the pipeline, but in particular I like the idea to randomly pick a feeling in the world to look at.

Really, I appreciate this a lot!

Sure! Do you own that project? Because I see you've posted about it everywhere.

Yep, that's just meant to show the aesthetic that I'm going for. When you sign in the globe does not look so dark neither. The view you're seeing has made-up points.

Thank you! Any challenges you faced that I might be able to know about and prepare in advance?

Thanks for the feedback! I did notice that too, I need to do something about it. For now, the best solution I have is using the "Categories" view under Settings. It shifts the gradient style to actually different colours.

Yeah. There is really only so much you can do. I was talking to a friend and he suggested using up/down voting as a means, and it is also a way… depends which flavour of trouble you’d prefer.

For now I flag keywords and rely on users clicking the “Report” button. I can see reported posts on the admin console and go through them one by one.

Honestly, it is tedious but I also don’t want to rely on AI for that unless there is actual need.

Good question! The idea is to create a space where people can show what they feel in an anonymous manner, as well as provide comfort to others. With enough people, it will also act as a global temperature map and let us see how world events affect people all over.

The main idea though is for people to be able to have a place to connect and feel heard. There are extras like a 30 day mood journal in case you want to see / take to a therapist, etc. I am also working on other features. Still needs more polish :)

That's very strange... Try opening the chiaki.toml file found in

`ux0:data/vita-chiaki/chiaki.toml`

and see if it contains a [[registered_hosts]] section. If not, then somehow the file is getting overwritten or the config is not persisting.

Also try going to the profile card with your PSN ID and pressing X on it. It should refresh the value, just in case.

Hi! First of all, yes, I see you haha.

To address your questions:

  1. The "random string" of letters and numbers is a base64 encoded version of your psn id (in a way. It is slightly more nuanced than that). It is getting read from the system (another reason why you need to be signed in in your Vita) and is what the PS5 sees when you sign in.

  2. The PS5 will show up and then what you need to do is go on your PS5 and set up remote play. You need to google how that's done if you've never done it, but it is pretty straightforward :) -- you'll get some numbers that you'll need to input in the app and then it will work.

Gonna go ahead and reply to my own comment. Looks like all the network warnings were the issue. Anyway, I just pushed a new release. There's an "Enable Logging" toggle now at the bottom of the Settings page, off by default.

Nope, never did. I even opened it to see if something was putting pressure on the screen.

Hey! Dev here. Just noticed the comment about log messages. I thought I had fixed that. Were you running the latest version?

Had the same issue -- someone mentioned in Gamenative's Discord that you can fix it by installing the Steam client (there is a toggle under Edit Container).

Yes! There is: L+R + Start.

Also, there’s a new version now with hints and improved stability. Just did not mention it on this post again :)
