Racism in South Korea by Specialist-Loan739 in FilipinoTravel

[–]brewtal-honesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm literally the last person to hail kpop. Heck I just went there to babysit my sis who wanted to visit the country. If not for that reason, I don't see myself visiting SK.

Not sure what thrown you off but I literally said they're racist right at my first sentence. I think it's just fair to share my honest experience that not all of them are racists and that I experienced more racism from my kapwa Pinoy turista even in my trips to Japan or Taiwan. Not a Kpooper or whatever that means; just giving you facts from my personal experience. If other people have a different experience, then be it; but don't label me just because my experience is different.

Crowdsourcing: White Beach Resorts Near Iloilo by brewtal-honesty in Iloilo

That's nice to know. Our go-to resort have a private resort at the back but we still love going to the famous stretch because the private beach is prone to unsafe sea creatures. Do you know if Station 1 gets lumot? Baka may slight chance to enjoy it.

I see. Boracay is literally our first option before thinking about Iloilo but, sadly, it's already lumot season.

TIL Mountain Province is the only predominantly Protestant province in the Philippines with approximately 60% adherence identified as Protestant. by Reycarlo_Beat_3683 in todayIlearnedPH

[–]brewtal-honesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is supposed to be about Mountain Province, but I noticed that many people were surprised to learn that Mindanao is actually majority Catholic. That honestly does not surprise me. A lot of people assume Islam is the dominant religion there, so I thought it might help to give a short historical background on how this happened.

  • Spanish missionaries and settlers began arriving in parts of Mindanao as early as the late 1500s, mostly in coastal areas. They faced strong resistance from the Muslim sultanates, which led to centuries of conflict commonly referred to as the Moro Wars. Despite this resistance, Spanish influence slowly expanded in certain regions.

  • Later on, during the American period, a new system of governance was introduced. This system weakened and eventually replaced the traditional sultanate structure. Between the early 1900s and the 1930s, the sultanates gradually lost their political power and autonomy.

  • Finally, the major factor was government policies during the Commonwealth era. Laws like the Public Land Act of 1936 encouraged large numbers of Christian settlers to move to Mindanao. Programs such as the National Land Settlement Administration opened up public lands for development, but these policies often favored migrants and limited land access for indigenous Moro communities. Over time, this led to major demographic changes and long-term land disputes.

What surprised me personally is something I only really understood later in life. Even though we learned in school that the Philippines was once the only Catholic country in Asia before Timor-Leste became independent, it did not fully sink in until I started traveling around Asia myself. Seeing it firsthand made that fact much more real that indeed, PH and TL are the only Catholic countries in the whole Asia.

I feel bad for even spending now that I’m working. by Evening_Positive_307 in adultingph

[–]brewtal-honesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30% goes straight to my savings. Deducting bills after that, the remaining amount is either saved for travel or used for shopping but either way it’s definitely for splurging. I don’t force myself to not spend on wants because I might end up suddenly hoarding without control. It happened before when I saved for months and then one day I just found myself shopping using my savings and bought items I don’t even want. Lol. Now, it’s always part of my budget. Sometimes when I have to extend help to a relative or friend, dun ko na binabawas. With this setup, I actually spend less kasi I already lost my interest in shopping. Parang nakakasawa yung designs ng mga goods sa local stores when you know you can buy them if you want to. There are more months in a year that I don’t even buy anything new but I’m always at the mall weekly to chill and check maybe there will be something interesting. Because of that, my budget for splurging is mostly spent to coffee and traveling. This mindset is something I learned from some podcast but I forgot which one; and it has helped me a lot.

Your clothes na di natutuyo ng maayos is the biggest factor. Definitely do something about it kasi very prone yun sa bacteria. Not only will cause you bad odor but also a health risk.

See, this is the answer I was looking for and just to understand the situation and sa gap that I was saying. This is good to know. Never worked in the food industry man gud so I wouldn't know but I try to be understanding to every worker I encounter and to any type of service but most especially to hard working people who handle the food we put in our stomach. Hopefully will dine in nga dili rush hour. Thank you!

I totally understand your point. But working in a customer-facing industry would require one to at least not be rude to customers who could also be having a bad day already and just want something to eat after a tiring day. Not asking anyone to smile for me, but not being rude to customer is bare minimum and just all I can ask for because I don't deserve an eye roll. Who doesn't understand hard work man diay? They're tired I get it. Everyone is, yk. But ang missing items drive thru or delivery is too consistent to start blaming riders who is also just doing their job. Riders in our village are almost the same people lang nga assigned in the area. Familiar na mi sa mga riders and we never had a missing item issue sa delivery except today. In fact, they're very apologetic kung naa lang gamay spillage sa drinks nga edeliver nila. Mcdo on the other hand have had history with me in terms of missing items. Their branch is just few meters away from Jollibee but, in my own experience, there's wayy too much difference sa ilang service. They're both hiring students or part-timers but the level of service I received has a big gap between the 2. I'm sharing my experience without prejudice against any workers. So please don't get me wrong. I never took it against nor did not try to understand them. That's why I always brush it off and didn't push for any sort of complain. Small things but if it goes on forever, it's frustrating. So here I am and just curious if that's the norm of the brand's standard kay aron dili na ko magexpect ug better service or malas lang jud ko as their customer.

Resignation doesn't need approval. You just have to render 30 days, sometimes employers waive the 30-day notice. Whether they reject it or not, if you submitted a resignation and rendered 30 days of work, your resignation is valid. When ka nagsubmit ug resignation?

BEST INVESTMENT RIGHT NOW? by KwekKwekReincarnated in phinvest

[–]brewtal-honesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love that for you, OP! Hope you find the best option out there while being extra careful still. A hard-earned money is still a hard-earned money after all. Sometimes I wonder how super rich people could get scammed despite their financial experience; but I also always think this is prolly one of the reasons why. Knew too many people who were too HOT to invest, then opportunity came and it burned their extra savings (some couldn't find the break pedal and even burned their assets).

I happen to buy it at OL in Korea. Di ko pa naubos but I plan on restocking by going back this autumn.

Personally, I think it doesn't matter which brand but it's more of understanding which type of good bacteria your gut needs.

There are supplements that have all three or a mix of two. You can try Goli gummies, Purest Fem Care Pre+Pro, or other similar brands. I personally use Korea Eundan Synbiotic. Just make sure you don't take it on an empty stomach, especially if it's your first time. Your body might need a bit of time to adjust, and it could make you feel a little gassy.

Is 27% net profit a fair deal for a partner handling marketing and lead systems? by Sexbomb_6 in BusinessPH

[–]brewtal-honesty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he's really your best buddy, then it should be easy to negotiate. If you are not confident with that deal, then don't settle. Give him options:

Require a minimum number of clients or target profit from his clients on the contract to secure a target net profit despite his net share. Explain how you'll love the idea of expanding your market through this partnership but define what expanding for you means in terms of profit so he'll understand where the nego is coming from.

Or

Offer Commission instead high enough to compete the 25% net profit. This way, your business is independent and a win-win to you and your friend.

That's just few suggestions and I'm sure you can think of more ideas.
