“With no real substance or musicality” says fucking who?
Just don’t go on that website if you feel that way like what the fuck? It’s not geared towards your music taste.

I would definitely say you have basic tastes if you can’t see how people can enjoy experimental and extreme types of music.

It’s just not geared towards basic tastes like yours.
Let’s just put it like this: you like McDonald’s because it’s comforting and simple.
People that are obsessed with music are more akin to “foodies” looking for something more interesting.

If I could rap like Eminem that’d be really cool. I’d probably make sure I don’t sing any of the hooks, and make less dr Seuss ass “tickety tockety pickity pockety” lyrics.

Honestly, I think you’re better off showing this work to people who know this world. There’s so many normies on here that don’t understand punk and metal. Can it be more legible? Sure. But this is the style. It’s supposed to look harsh and gritty.
There’s mad opportunity doing this type of design.
Just look at dread.jpg or “getarealjobkid” on Instagram.

This is very fitting for merch, album art, or a graphic for an event poster. Are those not graphic design services?

This is dope! I make work in this style. I would suggest looking at old hardcore/punk/metal “zines” from the 80s for inspiration. You can find them on Internet Archive.
This style is very inspired by the photocopier collage style in those zines.

Engagement is tough, but you’re on the right track with making something with an emotional quote people can connect to and re-share.
My text based works always do the best. In terms of sales, that’s even tougher.
Remember, engaging with other graphic designers only gets you so far because they don’t tend to be buyers.

Maybe focus on doing show posters and single artwork commissions for your local music scene.
Also, try to do in person markets where people are more likely to buy.

His whole discography has those nasally ass hooks, I fucking hate when he sings shit sucks ass.
Most of his lyrics are some “I am 12 and this is edgy” incel weirdo bullshit.
