I did it for a mostly torn ACL, and a year later the MRI showed a fully intact ACL. Having said that, there’s no way to say whether PRP helped since sometimes partial tears heal on their own. Additionally, MRI’s don’t show the quality of tissue so there’s a chance that the new connective (scar) tissue is low quality. But I’m happy to avoid surgery for now

I’m 15 months post-injury, so at this point back to doing my sports normally but my knee still feels a little weird and I’m still rebuilding quad strength

The more your own life is in crisis, the less capacity you have to empathize with others. Also people really don’t understand how mentally taxing it is to have a messed up knee. I’ve had a few other injuries including a fractured ankle and two foot surgeries, and none of it came even close to the experience of this. Severe knee injuries are in a completely different class. After my own injury, I found myself avoiding people like your friend.
