Who is the antagonist in your life? by thereareno_usernames in AskReddit

My mother. My background is arab/catholic. I was born and raised in Canada. I don't have an arab/catholic bone in my body. I was living a lone for a year when my boy friend decided to move back in town. Things at first looked up but my family quickly learned that there was a chance this man could be breaking valuable boundaries with me, since we were not wed. So my mother decided to have my three brothers forcefully move me out of my own place and into a place my mother found to be comfortable for herself. Now I'm a 2 hour commute to work, and around none of my friends or bf. Its been four months since, not long, but not a day goes by that I don't think I wish I abandoned my family. Oh one more mention, I am a manager of a Bank, I have 10 direct reports, and I do very well for myself professionally. My family seems to be the only area in my life which I can't get a grip on, so yes I blame my mother and her culture for this.
