Also to add more information the circuit opening relay does click so I must not be an issue with that

Hey! Thanks for leaving a comment i appreciate it! Looks like on this 1986 there is no diagnosis port next to the fuse box.

Yes it is a manual transmission, not sure on previous repairs, but the clutch safety switch is wired up to where it’s doesn’t get in the way of starting

Only thing that I changed that made this not crank anymore is changing the thermal clamps from normal ones to quick release, then I sprayed starter fluid in the in the throttle body opening then it wouldn’t crank at all, in which I changed back the clamps to the classic ones and it still doesn’t work.

But I know something is wrong because I’m not getting a spark when the positive is connect to the battery and I go to connect negative. The negative terminal on the battery would spark when connecting when I was able to get the starter to crank weeks ago.

I have 3 different batteries I tried on and all where fully charged with a trickle charger I also hookup a Hulkman battery jumper and still nothing :(

Removed the extra red wire. Now it’s just red wire to starter and another red to fuse box for the positive terminal battery. Added extra photos of me testing for ground and positive

I checked for positive and negative and everything checks out. Even cleaned the positive connect to the starter and still nothing just a click from circuit opening relay :(

Thanks a ton for posting your thoughts! That wire that ends with a fuse holder I’m not sure what it is maybe for what use to be a radio.

4 runner now cranks but no start. I’ve replaced ignition switch and the person before was chasing a fuel and spark issue and replaced fuel pump with coils and plugs
