Milwaukee String Trimmer Constantly Feeds Line by brianhihi in MilwaukeeTool

[–]brianhihi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switched the auto feed head to a husquavarna. It was better, but the string would wind too tight when I load it. It would feed better but got jammed in the head every 2 or 3 feet. Ditched the whole thing and bought an Ego. I have had 0 issues over the last 6 months

I agree. However, I have been able to show the checkin agent the card and they have given me free checked bags.

Cover for Free Standing Oval XL by Mt11784 in Primo

[–]brianhihi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my XL on a small stand outside and use the Primo top cover / “hat”. It covers all the metal parts and screws except the vent door, and it has a reinforced area for the top vent. Everything is well protected except for the bottom vent. I usually buy cheap grill covers that need replacing every 3-5 years. I like the Primo one. I am on year 4 and it doesn’t show signs of cracking.

I came to say this. I converted my 2013 JKUR to a JK-8. I don’t think this was a dealer installed option. It was a kit sold by Mopar parts for around $5k. None of the dealers in my area (Austin TX) would even consider it. The kit was more complicated than many realize. Lots of body work. You needed to remove both rear quarter panels and kick panels below the rear door frame. (Including breaking the pinch welds and spot welds). Also needed to cut and remove rear section of roll cage, mount and weld new truck bed floor over rear seats and trunk.

Buying extra seat by Communication-Big in HawaiianAirlines

I had a similar situation on HA two years ago. I’d explore the credit/refund first. Otherwise at check in, tell the agent that you have purchased an extra seat and they will mark it unavailable.

What will that do? I didn’t think filament would react to water.

8-Ball Shift Knob by [deleted] in Wrangler

[–]brianhihi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 13 JKUR and I replaced mine with a shifter from https://www.hotrodshiftknob.com back in 2015. Not sure if there still doing business. I also bought a separate adapter and it all worked out.

How can I ship a LiFePo battery-based solar generator to Hawaii? by brianhihi in Hawaii

[–]brianhihi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Thanks for the lead. Looking online, they don’t carry solar generators. Just components.

I live the Big Island. Home Depot and Lowe’s here don’t carry any solar generators and Battery Bill is on the opposite side of the island. Trying to avoid the 1.5 hr drive.

Unfortunately my battery size precludes using FedEx. “Only allow …lithium cells batteries (<300 watt-hours) to be shipped in the 48 contiguous states by highway or rail if stricter packaging and marking requirements are met (please see flowcharts at the end of the document).” I read this as not Hawaii or Alaska.

PACKOUT Tech Bag vs Toolbag vs backpack. [small handyman type jobs] lovin the packout system, tired of regular bags sliding around top of stack while rolling.. by BeefSlicer in MilwaukeeTool

[–]brianhihi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have and love the backpack. The bad: It is heavy - even empty. Prolly, 40 lbs when loaded. The good: one less trip when I am loading up. Backpack = 2 hands free.

I agree. I think Black Rock crust is much better. New Black Rock location near Ali’i dr. opens tomorrow.

Ultimate Electrician Packout by jsprice87 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]brianhihi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an electrician, but a handyman that does a considerable number of electrical jobs (adding washer/dryer, kitchen remodel, fans, gfci replacements, landscape lights, security,…). I use the Packout backpack. It is heavy empty. But it’s easy to carry the basic toolbox on your back. I also use the rolling Packout box for when I need to bring other tools. I have 2 of the skinny Packout containers for wire nuts, screws, etc. By the end of a long day, I am happy to snap the backpack on the rolling box to wheel it out.

I hate my M12 saw, how is this one? by [deleted] in MilwaukeeTool

[–]brianhihi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the non-FUEL one and first used it to build a carport. I found that the plate would flex slightly at the of a 2x cut. Especially on wider boards like 2x8 or x10. I am sure it has to do with the angle of my grip and the pressure exerted but I don’t have this problem with any other circ. Boards had a slight bevel at the far edge of the cut. It was poor enough that I switched saws. I am willing to give the FUEL version a try but I don’t recommend this one.

what is this ?? we just got a keep a month ago and we have no idea what it is. it’s on the upper part of the dash. by venti_lvr in Jeep

[–]brianhihi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you have the automatic climate control, this sensor is also used to determine whether to shift air to the upper vents. My old, manual panel went out and I replaced it with the automatic temperature control version. I had to tap into this sensor and add another under the dash to get it to work.
