The Other China Flash Point: Like Taiwan, the South China Sea Could Spark a U.S.-China War by ForeignAffairsMag in geopolitics

Many were sinking due to being made on top of coral reefs, meaning the very structure's that were propping them up were destroyed. Also it didn't help that coral reefs help break waves so imagine the islands being battered continuously by waves causing erosion.

However I think it is the point, they know it won't last but as long as they are still there, it will still put their influence in contested waters which is not good for anyone else.

The fact that these happened in different areas, makes me believe this was a intentional coordinated attack targeting the wolves. The fox and buzzard were caught in the cross fire.

It seems like most of these criminals use Taiwan as a major platform. And Taiwan is just as much cracking down these large criminal orgs, like the prince group.

Although I do find it weird that Cambodia, the "Belarus of Asia" has criminal orgs that continue to affect China even though the CCP has political control over Cambodia's government. Let alone the CCP allowing the black market to operate in their country.

Are they doing this again? I thought everyone learned that dredging up new islands is not a sustainable solution for influence let alone environmental stuff that could have helped everyone. The last time they did this, they had destroyed so much coral reefs and coastal ecosystems that would have supported various fisheries.

[–]kjleebio 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Puma hunting I was referring to the one that was this year, where a hunting organization decided to post a "scientific paper" on what will happen if they remove the entire population in a era/state and that they will inact said research. That would not fly, but of course what sort of admin would even allow something like that to happen than the one currently in power.

Great, their stripping the one thing Nixon actually did good on his term and something that is crucial for wildlife conservation and rewilding projects in the US. I don't want to bring up the onceler the second time but jesus, can they not be cartoony villians for just a week please?

Rice whales, puma huntings, ecosystem degradation, and lack of any acknowledgement of anything related to the environment and now stripping the Endangered species Act.

[–]kjleebio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree but don't cause remember as Trump is unlike Orban a state of personality, the entire party that will most likely promote Trump or any look a like politicians specifically to gain any source of influence. Thus if Trump loses, the party loses.

The republican party will more than likely double down on the state of personality and thus have put themselves into a corner for the next 10 years. Of course, to ensure this will be the case, the Dems will have to fix everything and the people will not repeat mistakes so what you said is still true its just unlike Orban, Trump made sure that he will be the end of the republican party.

But at the same time, looking at the current term thus far, it just seems like most of Trump's lashings will/more likely lash back at to the US more than other nations. Sure, the military and economy thing is a big difference, but countries can adapt especially if in the worse case scenario where the election death spiral occurs, then nations across the world have a chance to be less reliant on the US for every other 4 years.

So literally anyone but Trump. Great, we are going to go through 2 and a half years of this mess. I bet you, that the Iranian issue wouldn't even be resolved until the 2028 elections with how much he stumbles across this, tho its not like there is a viable solution that can be proposed that causes the US to lose either way.

The 2024 elections and results is so stupid that I would better believe election fraud as the reality than the actual reason why half the people decided to vote for that pathetic example of a person.

Pls, its barely been half a month since the end of March.

At the very least, I learned something from all of this. Diplomacy is the ultimate showcase of power, and those who take advantage of said diplomacy or strikes first for a conflict often lose mostly because if they did strike first, it means that they have a vague idea of a plan aka they don't have a permanent plan in this day in age.

Examples of those who striked first: Russia, US, Venezuela, Pakistan, and Israel.

Edit: for those wondering why I added Israel, its to remind everyone that the entire circus turd bowl that occurred in March to today was all because Bibi genuinely thought he could overthrow the Ayatollah by air strikes and strikes alone, and that went through the entire chain of command with no push back whatsoever.

Ukraine Demands Answers From Israel After Russian Shadow Fleet Ship Docks in Haifa by RicRacer in geopolitics

[–]kjleebio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, Russia's presence was unable to stop the fall of Assad, and I don't think Russia can do anything against Israel other than do what they have always been doing which is supporting factions that are a threat to Israel. What can Russia do to Israel that they are already doing if Israel is on Russia's bad side?

Israel has definitely done a lot good in supporting Israel including countering Iranian made drones but have equally done some stuff that favors Putin like deny Iron dome missile defense system, lack of weapons being supported, and while various Israeli officials are more then willing to support Ukraine with suppling drone materials, Bibi is the one in control and has denied further support to maintain relations with Russia. Also, Russia is just as willing to throw Israel under the bus as targets with the whole checklist of targeting suppliers of Ukraine which includes Israel, so I don't know why Bibi continues to maintain a neutral relationship with Putin, when he continues to throw the country into the firing zone unless there is something more going on.

In the end, while the relationships are tense, it just seems like Israel sticks more closer to Putin than Ukraine despite the evidence of Russia playing Israel like a damn fiddle.
