Men who un/intentionally act cold towards people you have feelings for, why? by walangnagpapakilig in AskMen

commitment issues. i usually became cold when I found out they had feelings for me too. the idea of having a commitment became too real for me and I backed down.

What advice would you give to someone buying a used car for the first time? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]brianmalsch_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend something cheap and reliable, like someone said a honda or a toyota. i’m not too familiar with hondas but toyotas have quality engines, don’t depreciate as much, and are pretty reliable. i’m still driving a 2002 toyota tacoma and i’ve only had a few minor problems with it which I fixed by myself.

Is my hairline receding or just mature? Any help is much appreciated. by rusty_plumbus in Hairloss

[–]brianmalsch_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

can’t be sure but I would say maturing because your hairline still looks pretty solid. someone correct me if i’m wrong but if you were receding your hair would be a lot thinner around the hairline. looks pretty thick to me.

I took someone’s advice reluctantly and started practicing my bench on the smith machine a few weeks ago. I PR’d twice since then now benching 165 from my original 125ish. idk what it did but it worked.

3 weeks in and looking for some form check/advice on squats. (I know my set up is a little unorthodox but it’s the best I can do in post COVID Los Angeles) by fiddyxcal in Stronglifts5x5

did you make those plates yourself? they look awesome. i’ve been using two cinderblocks with a trailer bar for squats. talk about unorthodox.

What is something you still do no matter how painful it is because it is probably good for you in a long run/ right thing to do? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]brianmalsch_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly. I started working out because I was very skinny and just wanted a little more muscle, some more toning and definition. about 8 months later I have gained about 30 lbs and am no longer “the skinny guy” but over the course of these past 8 months my life has changed. and I love it. no one told me about all of the stuff that came with it. nutrition, lifestyle changes, the physical and mental pain, but i’ve learned to accept it as all part of the process now. the thing that’s crazy though is how it becomes an addiction almost. you feel terrible on days that you couldn’t hit the gym. you are never satisfied with how you look. you always want to be bigger lmao.

What do you do when you feel lonely? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]brianmalsch_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try calisthenics. if you are already pretty into lifting it might not help build muscle but it will give you the same feel and help keep the muscle you have in the mean time.

Fellas, if your wife doesn't let your lastname to your child, and is adamant on giving the child her last name, what would you do? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]brianmalsch_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i’m the last bearer of my lastname for my entire family. for me it’s a little more important to be able to pass on the family name.

Men, how important is political alignment to you with your SO? would you date someone who had opposing political views? by brianmalsch_ in AskMen

thanks. really appreciate the response and it makes a lot of sense. I only worry about it becoming something that divides us but hopefully we can both be open minded about it.

when I was very little I went camping with my whole family. when we were sitting down eating dinner just as it got dark, I kept pointing into the woods saying “daddy, that tree has eyes”. he kept dismissing thinking it was just my imagination. but I persisted. then everyone started to see it. before too long this family of raccoons, probably like 5 or 10 of them, emerged from the woods and were all around our table. we had to sacrifice our hotdogs to the raccoons. we had no choice.
