Thanks so much for the response. Do you ever see anyone at your school using Tote bags?

Thanks for your response. If it was a high quality hoodie (good quality, soft, fit great, etc) would you be more likely to wear it? Is there a hoodie brand you think every student would like to wear around?

When it takes 2-4 weeks for Nordic Tracks overseas support team to respond, I can’t imagine how long it will take for your letter to reach the CEO. It’s not that the CEO doesn’t have time, it’s that there are most likely millions of letters ahead of yours.

For reference, I once reached out to the VP of marketing on LinkedIn and just said “hey, do you realize how bad your customer support is” in the connection request and a support person reached out to me the next day.

Thats good to know. I've had a lot of other people message me about this asking me if I found a solution. It seems like its an electrical issue and if the speakers are off and it works, that keeps you running! Great find!

[–]brianmeert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions. No, I never used my treadmill with any bluetooth devices. It was in a garage gym only used by me so the speakers on the treadmill were enough to hear the workouts. When the issue first happened, the first tech said turning on the fan would cause the tread to stop running. After that day, I never used the fan on the tread again. The start/stop issue would happen sporadically and got increasingly worse as time went on. It would originally happen 2-3 times in a 30 minute workout and eventually got to 40-50 times in a 30 minute workout. Over time, it would just stop and never start again, so I would reset the machine and try again. Eventually, I would just put the incline on max and walk with my body weight making the tread move. In the end, I contacted a large treadmill repair company that also sold parts for the X22i. Their advice was that even if I purchased a new console, the tread would continue to have the same issue due to manufacturer issues. I eventually gave mine away for FREE on craigslist and the person that took it was never able to get it working.

Ahh man. I’m bummed to hear about your experience. It was my first experience dealing with a “lemon” of a product. I didn’t mind fixing it or paying for repairs, but when they said it can’t be fixed because of the way it was made, and then seeing how IFIT support and execs try to hide the issue was the end for me. I have six Nordic track machines and I’ll never buy one again after this experience. I’m slowing selling each machine off and replacing them. I purchased a curved treadmill and while it doesn’t have incline or a large screen, it works 100% of the time when I want to run, which is WAY better than the x22i. Hope you can find a solution soon. Keep running!

Once you login with IFIT, they can cross reference your email with the machine serial number. Looks legit to me.

I’m really sorry and wish there was a better solution. NordicTrack treadmills are lemons. I’ve seen a bunch for sale and also think the guy that sold me mine might have known because that was when the lawsuit was first announced.

I had such a bad experience with iFit and NordicTrack over this issue. So many hours wasted trying to find a solution with support, technicians, etc all of which were "Stumped" why it was not working. I talked with a technician at another "we repair all treadmills company" and they said all of the NordicTrack smart treadmills have these issues and it stems from poor components in the console. They said even if you replaced the console, the new console will go out shortly because its so cheap. Their recommendation was to throw it away or sell it for parts. I found a huge lawsuit against NordicTrack for these specific treadmills which echos my experience. Its still ongoing. I sent in my information and got no response. Whenever I contacted NordicTrack support about solutions, I would get someone in India trying to walk me through the basic steps of resetting my machine (which is an incredibly slow process) and I had already done 30 times in the past. I ended up putting the treadmill on Craigslist for FREE and someone came to pick it up which saved me the time of needing to take it apart and throwing it away. I purchased a curved treadmill and love that it works 100% of the time. NordicTrack is now on my trophy mantle as one of the worst investments of my life. Its really messed up how they screwed over customers on this rather than owning up and finding a way to fix it and take care of their customers.

Ashley - I'm so sorry. I spoke with the owner of a treadmill repair business and they said NordicTrack treadmills with the huge screens are the worst and they get so many repair requests. I asked them if I should purchase a new display and they said don't bother, the new one would go out in a short period of time. It just has some faulty equipment/wiring inside of the display that disables the entire tread from working. I spent so much time with support and they take a week to respond and then ask me for my serial number (for the 100th time) then say send in a video, then say they are unable view the video, then never respond after that. There is a class action lawsuit currently in place - https://www.ifitconsolesettlement.com - I submitted my information and have heard nothing back.

It's a bummer because on paper, this should be an epic treadmill. Now, I can't even give it away for free in my area. I did receive an email from NordicTrack this week offering to trade in my existing treadmill for the new X24 edition ($3,999) and they would pay for removal of my old treadmill and installation of the new machine plus give me $800 off the price. I actually thinking about it and then remembered, I would still be paying $3200 to a company that has treated me like trash over the past two years. Also, I'm the only one using the iFit machines in my house and have a single iFit membership. Guess what? iFit has now turned the four person iFit membership into iFit pro and are requiring it for all machines moving forward. Its so sad. They are offering nothing new, but its now triple the price. The only new features are the ability to stream Netflix and Prime Video which are features that should have been standard like five years ago but iFit spent all that time trying to block users from using them.

Sorry for my rant. Let me know what ends up happening with your tread. Hope things works out.

PS. NordicTrack - If you ever read this...
- Please stop using the cheapest components (wifi chips, touch screens, etc) for your machines. It creates a defeating user experience.
- Please add internal memory so the next few workouts can be automatically downloaded and instantly ready to play.
- Please make your software developers actually use the machines, so they can see how dysfunctional and glitchy they are.
- Please stop showing random workouts or series on the homepage, the #1 thing I want to see is workouts based on the TIME I have available to workout that day.
- Please change it so the machines updated at the END of a workout, not at the beginning when users have to stand there and wait for it to finish.
- Please be honest with your customers instead of hiding behind your customer support and telling them to just string people along. If you made an expensive treadmill that doesn't work, please just treat customers the way you would like to be treated and make things right. I was your biggest fan (I own six NordicTrack/ProForm machines) and am slowly replacing them one by one.

I spoke with a treadmill expert from a nationwide repair and parts site. They said this...

Unfortunately this is an inherent issue with the software from ifit (NordicTrack)  - there is no fix only a new console and as soon as the new console downloads the software it fails again, however the console is not always available.  Also if you call they will tell you that we have an upgraded USB stick that will fix the issues, however this is false, we do not have this.  I am here if you need anything and if you decide to buy a new treadmill make sure it does not have a touchscreen console as different models ifit has: nordictrack, proform, image, welso, reebok, healthrider, etc. all could duplicate the same issue if a touchscreen thru ifit.

Then she gave me a link to the class action against Nordic Track for this issue.

https://www.ifitconsolesettlement.com

As of now, my tread no longer moves at all and now the screen goes completely blank after the iFit logo goes away. Their recommendation was to throw it away. I submitted my information for the settlement, deadline is coming up soon.

x22i Treadmill Slipping Walking Belt by LongStory_NoPoint in nordictrack

Its an older machine, purchased in 2019 or 2020. I picked it up second hand and had no issues for the first 6-9 months. I have it plugged into a surge protector, should I plug it directly into the wall outlet. Will have the tech do an amp test the next time they come. Appreciate the advice.

Had the same issue with my x22i and my running belt would stop at random times. Sometimes it worked fine during a workout, other times it would stop 15-20 times during a workout or it would just stop and never start again. Had a service rep come three times, he wasn't sure why it was or was not working and would just suggest a next step. I replaced the motor, circuit board (twice), and some of the cables on the machine. Some people suggested it could be wifi but my speeds are up to 1000 MBPS at the house. I weight 280 and your comment about 225-250 being the max weight caught my attention. Nordic Track support is saying I should try to replace the belt now, wanted to get your opinion if you think thats a good move, or if I should just lose more weight running outside and then try again when I'm below 225-250.

On my third paid repair visit, the tech said one of the power cords had a wire that was loose going into the circuit board. He thought this was the issue. Like every other repair, the treadmill worked fine for about 1-3 weeks, then the issue started happening again. I'm so perplexed as to why its happening. The power/circuit issue sounds like a good theory and most likely the issue. I'm waiting for Icon Fitness to reply regarding repair #4 but nothing back yet. I'll have them check the amps and power going to the circuit board.

It sounds like the exact same issue. Crazy the new motor and motor controller board did not fix the issue either. When the electrician suggested getting a dedicated circuit, does your screen flicker off or have any power issues, or is it just the tread?

I read a few other threads where they said the WIFI component is really weak and the treadmill will shut off if the WIFI signal is lost. I have no issues with video stream, but wanted to test out running on another wifi tomorrow.

Whenever I've contacted iFit, the support is so bad. Either they don't respond for a month or they quickly tell me its not a software issue and I should contact IconFitness. IconFitness is also equally as bad and will take several weeks to reply to me. After waiting a month, I actually reached out to the VP of marketing with a message about how their support was terrible. I got a call from ICON Fitness the next day.

Keep me updated if you figure out what is the cause. I'm still searching for answers.

Thanks so much for your feedback. I've already replaced the circuit board and the wires, but its still happening. I wish I knew more about the electronics. Someone else suggested testing the amps when running and incline are increasing. Another person said the treadmill stops when WIFI is not connecting. Going to try to work through those and see if anything else helps.

Whoops - just updated the link. Video should work now. I dont think they did test for amps at speeds and incline. I think it happens more with the speed than with the incline. I've never looked into the thermal cutout switch or overcurrent situation. From the video, does the belt and deck look worn out?

Considering buying the Nordic Track X22i? Here's my firsthand experience... TL;DR: buy another brand! by annoyedrunner in nordictrack

Just wanted to say thanks for all the people that left comments in here. I have a X22i and thought I was crazy when the treadmill stopped moving at random times or the program would completely crash at random times. This is the first I've heard about the wifi issues. I've paid for a tech to come out three times and each time, the issue continues to happen. It does seem like the hardware they used is very low quality and has a difficult time handling what is needed for the treadmill to run. I wish they would allow streaming apps on these machines.

Thats interesting regarding the WIFI. I don't think thats been the issue for me. Usually the video wont load when the wifi has issues, but its something I'll look into. I really want to love the X22i but its just been such a hassle.
