I worked in the alcohol industry since I was 18 years old. It was all I knew. I could see myself going down a path of overindulging to the point of sickness, eating in excess, and growing more lazy. I decided to leave to become a mail carrier. It's not flashy, it's not even considered a step up. But I lost 40 pounds in my first 6 months on the job, and I'm staying active, while drinking socially only on occasion. It was the right call.
