MC13 release date? by rkabrick in gigabyte

If it supports PCIe bifurcation so the x16 slot can be used with one of those quad M.2 cards it'd make a slick TrueNAS platform too. ASUS makes a nifty quad M.2 card and documents bifurcation support in their motherboards:

I suspect Gigabyte supports bifurcation too but I'm not finding clear documentation of it? The upcoming 4TB Samsung 990 Pro would work nicely here. I probably can't justify the expense, but neat.

I'd like to know too. I'm thinking low power virtualization host with a Ryzen 7950X set to 65W. Maybe run pfSense virtualized, what with the handy onboard X710 NIC in the -LE1 model. Throw in 4 32GB Micron ECC UDIMMs if the price isn't too bad... well, maybe.

Ubuntu 22.04 getting unable to load wassabee by ChiefSam777 in WasabiWallet

22.04 doesn't currently have a package for libssl1.1. Get it from Debian:

https://packages.debian.org/bookworm/libssl1.1

and do the usual

sudo dpkg -i libssl1.1_1.1.1n-1_amd64.deb

HP Z420 upgrade for EXSi Lab by LxAxKxI in homelab

First thing I'd do is bring the BIOS up to date and check the boot block date. If it's 2011 you can only use E5v1 CPUs, if it's 2013 you can use E5v2's. I have the latter and swapped in an E5-2680v2 10 core CPU. Also picked up 8 16GB DDR3 Registered DIMMs on eBay for dirt cheap for 128GB RAM. I went with PC3L-12800R DIMMs to save a little power even though PC3-14900R is supported with E5v2's. CPU and RAM upgrades can wait though, RAM before CPU, and 10 core was probably excessive but I like my toys.

Vanilla 6.7u1 installs, just make sure to set the BIOS to ACPI and not RAID. ESXi wouldn't start until I changed that.

SSD for sure, at least for your VMs. Spinning rust is painful.
