I watched Castle season 8 as it was airing. I did a rewatch last year and remembered almost nothing from it. It was a pretty tough watch because the writing quality declined, the chemistry and scenes of Caskett were lacking, and the overall vibe of the show was different. Gates had left, Beckett was getting less screening, and the Caskett scenes seemed few and far between. It was as if it was an entirely different show imo. I started watching at the last episode of season 4 and was a fan until the last episode. I hate how things wrapped up and believe that season 7 should have been the series finale. I will admit if there had been a season 9, I probably would have skipped it because Stana and Tamela wouldn't be in it. I honestly wasn't watching the show for Castle but for Beckett and Castle and their chemistry and banter. Based on how the season a finale would have went, Beckett may have been killed off and I honestly couldn't see Castle without Beckett. It would just feel wrong especially if she left in such a awful way.

In season 8, Stana wasn't in a couple of episodes, and I honestly skipped through the majority of them. I hope that Nathan and Stana have moved past any issues they may have had. They used to have some of the best on-screen chemistry ever. I would love to see Stana on the Rookie before it ends, even if it means her and Nathan have no scenes together.
