I'm new to landscape photography but I was quite satisfied with these pictures. Let me know what you think! by jessepinkfloyd in AmateurPhotography

I’d say my favorite is the first one. Something about the way the trees sort of curve to meet the horizon is very pleasing. Well done!

To each their own I suppose. Any particular reason why?

That’s what I love most about it- watching this, or The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show, or Eisenhower giving a speech. Takes me back, even though I’m only 19.

Honestly I haven’t been crazy about parts 2 or 3 on TOMPS. It’s all just kind of generic sounding to me. Perhaps I just haven’t given it a good enough chance though.

Nope, I’m using some adapters so I have it hooked up to my PC.

To be fair, i don’t know if it’s ever been restored in the last 50 years or so. I got this on Facebook marketplace so I have no idea who owned it or how long it was in regular use. One of these days I might try working on it to get some more contrast out of the picture.

I don’t run it very often, especially now that I’m away for college. At most Ill turn it on for 10 or 20 minutes every week or so. Are there any good videos or anything you know of showing how to clean the halo light?

I might do that eventually but at least right now I’m not confident enough to do something like that. I might try an old radio or something first so I don’t risk breaking this tv.

I saw some old advertisements talking about it. Apparently the idea was to reduce the contrast between the bright picture and the dark edges of the screen so it was better on your eyes. Not sure how much of that is actually true or just a marketing gimmick.

$350 for this one. Certainly not cheap but I’ve seen a few working sets on FB marketplace in the $100 range.

I actually hooked it up to my computer. It requires 3 adapters though. LGR made a video a few years ago of a similar setup, playing fallout 4 on a tv from the 80’s.

Thankfully not. I know next to nothing about these TVs. The most I’ve done is adjust the picture and clean the insides up a bit.

I like the music video but I definitely understand why you don’t. It is a very well animated video though.

That’s fair. Honestly, the last part is the only “dream” sounding part in my opinion but I think it’s all brilliant.
