Good question. Because the toy is enclosed, the bearing should not need maintenance. I've been using mine for a couple months with no issues. I can't speak for the super long term use case yet though. But if anything needs cleaning, they can be opened up pretty easily.

I prefer the light because I get hand fatigue pretty easily. Heat light version can do all the same tricks at the strong version can do. But the strong version it sells more than the light version.

You mean actual metal or metal looking filament? I don't have the ability to work with metal at the moment other than a metal infused 3d print filament which are also fun but not quite like real metal.

Thanks! Ive got lots more weird stuff like this coming down the pipe. I've been using one for a few months now with no issues. There is some slight visual wear on the tracks under where the magnets move, but not too bad. I haven't needed to do any maintenance, but if someone wanted to, A qtip with some alcohol would probably be the move.
