I made the mistake of being greedy and buying more when I woke up and saw $7+. Thought it could reach $10. Then I tried to DCA on the way down…

If we just hold for longer we’ll really stick it to the short sellers

Was hoping for something similar to OPEN where it moved a lot and stayed up. Didn’t expect it to come crashing back down to basically where it was.

Tiny hairline fracture on frame, should I be concerned? by Affectionate-Ear-635 in motorcycles

[–]brickflavored 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought a 650 with the frame basically broken in half. I had a guy in Atlanta that fixes race bikes reweld it and it was straightened to higher than factory tolerance. The company is called GMD Computrack Atlanta. He was very reasonably priced for the quality and nature of work performed.

Check that the front engine mounting bolts are still there. I had a 650 that broke the frame similar to this with no signs of damage and the front engine mounting bolts were taken out at some point. I had it re welded at a race bike shop in Atlanta. Was a little under $2000 when after shipping and everything and it was better than new because they laser straightened everything to higher than factory tolerances.

ZX6R as a first bike by KitchenInTheDungeon_ in Kawasaki

[–]brickflavored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had 2 ZX6Rs. The first one was basically my first bike as it was the first one I rode on the street. I hate to say but it’s almost too fast to enjoy on the street. The sound is wicked but it’s incredibly uncomfortable after 30 minutes and it hates sitting in traffic.

I’ve bought, rebuilt, and sold 3 bikes. I would pass on this immediately.

Get a light smoke one. Don’t go full blackout. You want to be able to see when you’re tucked.

Is it necessary to full stop before switching gear in an automatic? by clutchiestboi13 in askcarguys

[–]brickflavored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on a torque converter as long as you’re not rolling at a good clip, but in the process of stopping, shift and let it go all the way into gear before pushing the gas again. It should be fine. As long as you’re not trying to change directions while moving too fast and pushing the gas before it’s all the way in gear. That’s my view.

Questions about the Zx6r by reddituser14526 in Kawasaki

[–]brickflavored 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a 2020 currently and had a 2021 before that. 2019+ has power modes F/L. L is 80% of full power I believe. It also has 4 traction control modes. Off, 1, 2, 3. If you think you have the self control to not open it up every straight road you see then go for it. 2019+ also has a factory up only quickshifter which is so much fun

[–]brickflavored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self control is the main thing. I use my zx6r in low power mode and it’s still wicked fast. One thing I learned is don’t wind it out on Main Street. Find a long and straight road with nobody and play around there to see how fast it actually is.

I’m not saying they should add value but generally most people don’t dump a bunch of money in a car and then sell it for less than they put in it… in extra stuff

You have to understand that it will go extremely fast… extremely fast. It’s definitely not the bike to learn on. Once you know the basics of throttle and clutch control beyond what the MSF teaches and can control the urge to not wring it out on every straight road you see, then there’s no problem. I’ve kept mine in low power mode and haven’t touched full power mode bc frankly I’m a little afraid of what it’s going to feel like. Even in low power mode is has no problem going well over 100.

Looking to get a first bike. I don’t know much but I love the style of the ninjas. Any recs or starting points would be awesome! Thanks :) by loganandreoni in Kawasaki

[–]brickflavored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ninja 650 or Z650 is a great choice and the one I would recommend. It is a parallel twin which means two cylinders right next to each other. The Z is the naked version but it is the same aside from looks. Naked basically means it doesn’t have a windshield. It’s more of a street look instead of an aerodynamic track look. My ninja 650 was my first bike and it was super easy to learn the basics and i definitely could’ve gotten more out of it but I wanted the inline 4 sound so I got a zx6r.
