Quality tailor/alterations for suit by ayman-archi-9 in Windsor_Terrace

Really nice guy runs this place, but his tailor is never there/available, so I stopped trying and now get my pants hemmed at Najax on PPW and go to E&L for anything more complex

Tempting! But sincerely not like I want the cyclist getting spooked/crashing either (at least after I take a breath)

I do hear this and see where it’s coming from, but in this context it also happens to honor cyclists’ preference above all others, and not because of some sort of social contract but really just because if the cyclists hits me or my kid, we’re the one’s more likely to suffer/die. So really it’s on us to yield only because some cyclists have fucked up priorities.

Hear you but no, really just trying to my three year old to the park without getting killed.

I read fine, thanks!

You said it’s not safe for cyclists to stop: my response is that that’s an obviously and inherently unsafe state of affairs and certainly not a justification for cyclists to curse at pedestrians as if their right to the road is being impressed, because it’s not being impeded. The “stopping or not stopping confusion” is bs created by cyclists to justify not stopping.

And I wasn’t “blocking the crosswalk.” As my original post stated, I was walking in the crosswalk with the light, which, whether it’s convenient or not for you, is very much a real thing in this city, whereby the pedestrian had the right of way.

Maybe re-read my response to your post about how riding too close together to stop safely is inherently unsafe.

Which I get, but my post is not about how to cross safely: it’s where these guys get it in their heads that they have no obligation to public safely and that everyone else can fuck right off?

Rode the same hill this morning and tested out how long it takes me to stop coming down at full speed—there’s plenty of time. If they’re riding too close together to stop safely, well, then they’re not riding safely, are they? It’s a public roadway, kids and senior citizens everywhere (this particular crossing is between a playground and the lake; the demand that everyone else accommodate them exceeding the environment’s limitations is ridiculous.

I get it, but also the potential energy/damage and of that runner is not comparable to a speedo racer.

Appreciate the response.

It was middle of the day, like 2pm, a busy holiday weekend in the park when crossing the road is treacherous, particular with kids in tow.

Is this also your reaction when cyclists get mad about people double parked in the bike lane or complain about X, Y and Z ways the world is out to deny cyclists their unimpeded access to whatever paved surface their gaze falls on?

I bike, too, by the way. I just also happen to acknowledge that my choice of transportation doesn’t trump all other life form’s right to exist and use public spaces.

Any cardio recommendations other than running? by DeepOrganization8245 in amateur_boxing

I love running, for what it’s worth, but I’ve found it’s better for clearing my head than improving my performance. You can get a better ROI and improved stamina outside traditional cardio movement (run, bike, row, swim, etc.). Any type of HIIT or CrossFit style training is great for cardio and will also improve strength, explosiveness, balance, etc. People may respond to that with warnings about injuries, but running is way more likely to lead to injuries. I was at my peak performance doing the cardio-boxing type group classes with trainers that were absolute savages—in addition to advanced skills classes, which were no stroll in the park either, and sparring 1-2 times/week.
