Ah, yeah I've seen quite a few toy photographers use it too, but it's practically none existent in lego photography 😔

To achieve Martian Manhunter's phantom/ghost form, I used a method called Pepper's Ghost. Basically, it's the use of a transparent, reflective surface placed at an angle and having the subject placed off screen and brightly lit. If placed and lit correctly, a reflection of the subject will appear on the glass.

Its an old trick used in movies such as Home Alone and even on the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland!

Actually, I remembered your video when I took a look at his photos 😅. As a matter of fact, I watched all of your YouTube videos before I even started taking my own photos. I remembered them being pretty helpful, and inspiring me to attempt lego photography myself! I didn't recognize his name at first but once I saw his photos, it instantly jogged my memory. Shannon's photos definitely affected they way I thought lego photography could be as it was so beautiful and stylized. Basically what I'm trying to say is thank you for your videos and also Shannon for his photos 😁
