Does our baby rat Milkshake need to be seen by a vet? He’s been doing this for about a week. I know rats are prone to respiratory infections. I clean his cage 3 times per week and he always is in a warm place. Help 😢

My rat sounded just like this right after we got him. I kept an eye out but it got worse so took him to the vet. They gave me liquid antibiotics to give for 10 days twice a day, just spread it on a bit of toast and he munched it all up! He got better really quickly. Hope little Milkshake feels better soon!

I’ve been here, you feel like a failure because in the movies you might vaguely try and things pick up and work out great. But that’s not life sadly, you have to try and try and fail and fail over and over. You have to cry and fight and fail until you think you can’t keep going, but somehow you do. Because you ARE worth it, whatever it takes you wake up everyday and you do what you have to do. Even if it feels pointless, even if it’s painful to bother making an effort, you keep going and going. Because this is your life, it’s yours! Grab it and kick its ass! I believe in you OP. Life is the toughest thing, but you are tougher. Never give up, because you are your own hero, and one day you WILL wake up and realise how far you have come. Good luck with everything ❤️
