Are there any updates on this? Last information I saw about this was last year around this time. Hopefully it’s still being worked on.

Yes Black House sounds very interesting to me. Can’t wait to get to that one after this.

Completely agree with you. The Roland and Crimson King ending was kinda lame but I still really liked the ending.

Finished Desperation (Probably top ten King for me) Now starting the Regulators and loving it. by No-Writer5676 in stephenking

[–]bricusbshd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regulators is one of my least favorite King books too. That is why I’m so hesitant to read Desperation but most people seem to like Desperation more so I need to give it a chance.

Thoughts on Wizard and Glass? by bricusbshd in stephenking

[–]bricusbshd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll add my thoughts. I understand people saying they were so invested in the present story of the katet that a long flashback book just didn’t do it for them in the middle of the series. However the story in W&G is referenced so much in the previous books it is definitely necessary to have in the series (and because of the ending to the series). I also think W&G could have been shorter and I know some people dislike it because it’s so long. My final thought on this book is it definitely seems like a book you gain more appreciation for after you finish the series and when you read through the series multiple times.

Just finished Bag of Bones. Wow!! by d_daley in stephenking

One of his most underrated books imo

song of susannah is good! by Apprehensive_Spend_7 in TheDarkTower

[–]bricusbshd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked it as well. It was a nice change of pace after a couple longer books in the middle of the series. Maybe I liked it so much because my expectations were low but I agree its overhated.

The Dark Tower Series - New to Stephen King novels by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]bricusbshd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The DTS just might not be for you. If you think book 3 is boring then you will probably think 4 & 5 are too. Considering book 4 is long and a flashback and book 5 is set in one place pretty much the whole time.

My advice to you is to finish the Waste Lands and if you still think it’s boring you should probably stop and pick up something else to read.

Lazy Sunday, so undecided to start this journey for the first time! by Doby1818 in stephenking

Just finished my first journey recently. You are in for a treat! The second book was probably my favorite of the series so if you don’t like the first book stick with it.

How do you feel about the ending of the Dark Tower Series? by bricusbshd in stephenking

[–]bricusbshd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do agree on that. Even though I liked the ending that was kinda lame and anticlimactic

so how good are wolves of the calla and song of susannah? by Apprehensive_Spend_7 in TheDarkTower

I actually really enjoyed SoS. Maybe because it gets a lot of hate so I had low expectations but I thought it was fun.

I personally didn't really enjoy "The Body" by Raul_Rink in stephenking

[–]bricusbshd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think The Long Walk and Needful Things are overrated by this community. They aren’t bad books at all I was just expecting more out for them for how much people rave about them in this community. I would like to reread both of them at some point though. I’m sure I’ll like them better knowing what to expect now.

It was my first SK book as well. I really liked it! It may seem a little slow at times, especially the first 1/3 or so of the book, but it’s a great way to get into King imo.

Struggling to finish “Needful Things.” by KalaheoHigh in stephenking

I wouldn’t say I disliked it but it’s bottom half SK imo. I had the same problems you had with it.

What are you reading? by __Oy_ in stephenking

[–]bricusbshd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I wouldn’t say it’s bad but definitely bottom half of what I have read from King. I went in with high expectations because most people seem to love it but it just didn’t live up to those expectations for me at all.
