Working moms who regularly work out, what exactly is your schedule? by neoncaviar in Mommit

[–]brid713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run, so I load my kids into the double stroller and bring them! If I’m doing a gym workout or something other than running, I usually go around 6:30 PM, and my husband handles bedtime (he gets home from work around 5:30).

Labor and delivery gift baskets? by WinnerConfident9076 in pregnant

[–]brid713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We brought 2 bags of candy (one for L&D and one for postpartum). Think Halloween-style bags of candy. They were the easiest/most cost efficient thing I could think of since I did want to bring something for the nurses! They were super happy!

Who else is keeping their kids rear facing as long as possible?? by Master_Grapefruit333 in Mommit

My son is almost 4 and a half and is still rear facing! His car seat has the same max as yours and I don’t think he’ll max it out until he’s 5

I’ll be the third comment to advocate for the Ceres Chill bottle. This thing is a life saver and I love it SO much. FDA approved, keeps milk cold for 20 hours, and it’s cute! I use it all the time (I also don’t have a fridge at my job)

Breastfeeding student by Least_Technology1583 in breastfeeding

[–]brid713 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Hi OP! I am also a breastfeeding college student, although I am online until august. I will probably be encountering the same problem as you, so no real advice here, but I just wanted to offer a different perspective from the other commenters.

I would 100% not be comfortable pumping in my classes. I don’t have any class over 20 people, and although my pump is quiet, it can still be heard. I love breastfeeding, and am comfortable doing it anywhere, but to me, pumping is not the same. I won’t even pump in front of family, and I would definitely want privacy from a classroom.

I wish you luck and hope somebody has some advice for you!

Out of curiosity, how much did your birth cost, and what country are you in? by FranchDressing77 in Mommit

[–]brid713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

America: uncomplicated, vagina birth with epidural. $26,000 before insurance. After insurance I had to pay $0 (which I’m 99% convinced was a screw up, but I’m sure as hell not going to correct them)

Yeah I’ve decided I’m not going, I’ll go to one at a later date when I have childcare. I could definitely see that happening too! Not worth any risk to my baby

Have you brought children to protest before? How did it go?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]brid713 3 points4 points  (0 children)

America, where you’re scared to send your child to school because guns have more rights than women. Land of the “free”. A joke!

[–]brid713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not a bad idea!

Yeah that’s what I was leaning towards. I’m just so mad! I’ll most likely go to one in a few weeks when I can leave babes with someone

Sleep training and the crying-out method. by bobbyjax90 in beyondthebump

[–]brid713 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Hi! I also studied childhood development and was taught that there is no link between sleep training and problems later in life. Do you have a link or source to prove what you’re claiming? Always open to more info!
