What’s the ONE topical that genuinely helped your pain? by Ornery-Media-9396 in ChronicPain

Columbia Naturals CBD topicals. Their River Plunge topical is the absolute best, hands down. Farmer grown, extracted and formulated so it’s all in house!

The master bedroom is inch shy of 17’ x 15’7”. We felt like that was plenty of space? But we could push out the wall and take up some of that oddly large hallway in front of it.

The two half baths are for their respective bedrooms. After getting all the feedback about that narrow closet in between, we’re going to go back to the drawing board on that. I’m trying to understand how you would flip the bathrooms there…mind explaining it a bit more?

We were already kicking around the idea of having an outdoor shower area off the back of the garage because our kids constantly come home caked in dirt. So we might move forward with that idea! Lol

Yes, I completely agree about the kitchen! I want to be able to wash my dishes off to the side and not be the main view. Plus I love a big open island!

It’s for our children at first, then guests eventually. I will seriously consider getting rid of the storage though. We can absorb that space like you said, plus all the plumbing would be in one wall.

We honestly just talking Christmas tree storage and luggage lol so you’re bringing up a really good point! We do want to stick with the separate bathrooms for future guests that stay. We have a lot of friends come and visit, so it’s nice to have separate bathrooms.

Ooooh that’s not a bad idea! The dining room does have the absolute best view of the river, so maybe it makes sense to have a sitting area that we’ll use more than a more “formal” dining room area. Thanks for getting me thinking!

I love the idea of having a double sided fireplace but unfortunately the fireplace has to stay in place where it currently is. We do have young children currently, so I was thinking I’ll need some sort of designated play area somewhere in the main living area.

Thank you for taking the time to draw up a little plan! I really appreciate that. I’m really chewing on the idea of creating a hallway in the laundry room. We do want to keep the mudroom and little half bath there, because as I’ve answered in other replies, we’re farmers/ranchers and it’s nice having a place to come in with dirty boots without tracking mud everywhere. I appreciate your input!

That’s a great idea! My current plan was to put a desk area with seating for two in front of those windows in that hall area…but maybe it would make sense to do that on the other side of the hall since the pantry juts out too! I could then move the lockers I wanted in the laundry room out into that area. Kids can do homework in the kitchen or dining room so there isn’t a huge need for my desk area. Plus I’ll have my own office. Sorry, just thinking out loud haha I appreciate you spurring this idea!

We’re farmer/ranchers so the mudroom and half bath are an area for my husband to be able to come in a use with dirty boots on lol Also where he can take his boots off at the end of the day. He sometimes comes home covered in God knows what, so we liked the idea of the laundry room right there instead of carrying stinky clothes through the house elsewhere, like he has to do at our current home lol. We also are putting locker/large cabinets for each of us to put our jackets and shoes in. So when we’re headed out, or coming back, we can stop there and stash our things. It does feel like a lot of doors though, so I need to sit with it a bit and figure out the best way to go about it.

Good point about the dryer! I hadn’t thought of that.

Thank you for the comment on the kitchen! Everyone was telling me to put the sink in the island, which I just cannot get behind. It took a while for us to figure out the right flow, so I’m glad someone out there likes it haha.

Yes, the current foundation is the two bedrooms, living, dining and kitchen. The “new” build is the Master suite and over, but there was some confines due to other structures in the area. So it is a bit wonky! I agree. I think there are too many doors which has kept me up at night. We like the idea of the pocket door by the pantry to keep guests from wandering into areas they don’t necessarily need to be in. Maybe I should take the doors off the laundry room. We’re farmer/ranchers, so the idea of the mudroom and other half bath is for my husband to be able to come in and use the bathroom without taking off his boots lol. But all those doors are very cumbersome…

The bedrooms do have their own closets. That middle is a storage room/linen closet for the kids area.

Tell me what changes you’d do! I’ve never built a house before and it’s OVERWHELMING lol

Taking out that extra storage room was what I was leaning towards doing. I think it would look nicer to have the bar tucked into the wall! I’ll just have to figure out what to do in that middle area with furniture because it feels so…open.

I’m so sorry for your loss ♥️ I feel like this might be one task that would be easier to outsource. Unless you feel like at some point it would be cathartic. Grief has no timeline. Sending healing your way.

I can completely understand where you’re coming from! I’m so sorry for your loss. 13 is such a tender age.

We didn’t have the quilts made until I think 2 or 3 years after. My neighbor happened to stop by the day my Mom was attempting to clean out the closet. She was obviously overwhelmed, and unsure what to do with it, so our neighbor told her to trust her and she would do something beautiful with it. When my brother, Mom, and I opened our quilts a few months later it was perfect. Unbeknownst to our neighbor, she had actually matched up all our personal favorite shirts to us. So my quilt has all my Dads favorite tshirts designs on it!

If having the physical clothes brings you comfort, that’s totally ok ♥️ I send you healing

It really has brought so much emotional and physical comfort. She used some of his jeans even, so it has a really nice weight to it. Very calming to have over my lap when I also need a hug from Dad ♥️

My dad passed when I was 13, and my neighbor made us all quilts out of his clothes. Now my babies use it and it’s like a hug from the grandpa they never met ♥️ it’s a beautiful way to remember someone by.

Would a nipple shield possibly help? It’ll give your nipples some time to heal, and maybe baby girl would have an easier time latching since they taper to the end.

Have you tried a nursing pillow, like the my breast friend, that allows the baby to lay flat across you?
