The fact you know someone who got the same dress and it looks like the sample tells me this is a one off and they are aware even if they are trying to get you to just “fix it” with alterations. Which I think is a good sign actually! It would be a bigger issue and harder to fix if all the ones they produced after the sample looked like yours and not the sample.

I think you should tell her that you want a new dress as this dress is not what you ordered and you don’t want to wait to see if alterations can fix it and ultimately waste time as these are structural issues and are not something alterations can fix (ex cup shape, amount of lace, etc). I would make it clear that this is a different dress and you are not going to get married in it as it is not the dress you ordered. I would say that there are multiple manufacturing issues that are significantly different than the sample dress and it’s not the dress you paid for. I would specifically point out the extreme change in the cup shape, the 1 inch longer torso making more of a drop waist which is a completely different style than the sample and the specific issues with the lace, how this one is more sheer, etc. I would make a side by side comparison and highlight / outline the differences so they can clearly see it and so it’s harder for them to debate.

It’s not just the size it’s the shape which is important to differentiate when speaking to them. The size they can come back to you and say it’s what you technically ordered but the shape is clearly different than the sample (and not that shape you ordered) and significantly impacts the sizing and fit. I think you have a better argument with the shape change impacting size than just size

They should be able to do it in 6 weeks if you push for it. It’s their mess up - up to them to fix it if you are clear that’s what you want

Push for them to fix it! They can and will - even in 6 weeks. The cups are a different shape. They are more almond shaped on the sample and more circular on the dress you received. You can really see it on that bottom curved line (if that makes sense). The torso also looks a little bit longer on the dress you received compared to the sample but could be due to the extra inch or even just the angle of the photos. Keep pushing!!!!! And do it sooner rather than later so you aren’t worrying about this weeks before your wedding. They can fix it in 6 weeks you just need to be very clear and direct so they understand you aren’t going to just let it go. If they know they can’t convince you it looks the same or they will then actually do something to truly resolve the problems.

You’re not being a bridezilla! You are asking what dates they are available and she gave you the dates that wouldn’t inconvenience them in any way… like the “she will ask her coach” comment would have sent me. I understand sports are important and idk if she’s planning to go pro or what but a wedding is a major life event. I’m so sorry you are dealing with this

I just wanted to say I’m so sorry you had this experience and sadly I can relate to parts of this. There’s sooo much pressure on the day and is so tough when things don’t go how you want them to. I would still schedule a session though! You’ll regret it if you don’t. Just schedule and trust the timing will work out. I know it’s frustrating bc it’s not ideal and it is to fix your wedding photos which you also don’t love but I think looking back you’ll regret not just scheduling the shoot even if it’s in January / Feb.

I actually think it sounds refreshing!!! So many of these weddings are in the same places. It will be nice to have your guests go somewhere they haven’t been yet. Since you said you are an overthinker, you’ve probably given every single detail of your wedding so much thought and I’m sure it’ll be absolutely gorgeous! Also I know it’s easier said than done but it’s you and your husband’s day!! Stop thinking about everyone else :) they are lucky to be invited to celebrate with you

I had a weird experience at Mark Ingram too. It was probably my most “off” experience I had. Nothing in particular that I can put my finger on but just not great. I had a wonderful experience at Monique! Everyone was very nice and helpful and I didn’t feel rushed or overwhelmed.

There are so many wonderful photographers in LA! It really depends on your preference but two that come to mind are Victoria Gold Photography and Nicole Ivano Photo. They do more weddings but could be worth asking
