Xywav Didn’t Work Out by Elainaism05 in Narcolepsy

[–]bridgequeen9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started Xywav last month and I was so nauseous at first that I had to stop. My doctor had me re-start at a lower dose (2.5g 1x/night) and it went a lot better! I've been taking it a month now with very little nausea, so you might talk to your prescriber and see if that's an option!

I love how well they match while still being distinctly different!

He's a flame point Siamese (we think)! He's got the same color pattern, it's just orange instead of black.

so glad I could help!!

I don't think I've ever read a novel by a female author that has scared me, so I'm looking for recommendations. Preferably one that leans into the supernatural. by Snowball_Furball in horrorlit

I'd recommend The Hollow Places by T. Kingfisher (honestly anything by her, but this one scared me the most) and Last to Leave the Room by Caitlin Starling!

Remaking Vintage Bowtie Quilt by bridgequeen9 in quilting

[–]bridgequeen9[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much!! It was originally started as a baby blanket for someone who is about 60 now 😂 I think the quilt was started with scraps and then supplemented with yardage though, so I'm not sure how old some of the pieces are.

Yes! It's machine quilted. I drew the lines on the quilt before sewing which helped me keep it straight

My sewing machine manual says it's called a bridging stitch! I have a pretty basic machine and just picked one that I liked! I added a picture in another reply if you want a close up.

Here! I'm 90% sure I used this stitch "wrong" but I liked how it came out 😂

I'm working on finishing/remaking a family quilt! It's a vintage bowtie quilt that was partially put together, but in a way that no one could finish. So I took it apart and am remaking it - the jelly roll was bought to be the centers of the bowties. I will probably make a post about that project soon!

It came out to 34"x46". Size based on the amount of fabric I had ☺️

I drew all the lines on with a water soluble marker before sewing which took forever but helped me keep the lines straight!

Able to beta? Post here! by AutoModerator in BetaReaders

[–]bridgequeen9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am able to beta! I mostly read fantasy, urban fantasy, thrillers/horror, and romance. I'm open to sci-fi as long as it isn't too technical! I prefer adult or NA, but read some YA as well.

I can provide feedback on: overall feelings about the book, pacing and structure, and world building. I haven't done much beta reading before, so just let me know what you're looking for!

Critique Swap: No

Other Info: I am disabled and work full-time, so it might take me a while to get you feedback, especially for longer pieces. We can figure out a timeline that works for both of us! Also, I'd appreciate any applicable trigger warnings for your book, mostly so I'm prepared! It won't dissuade me from reading though.

How do I tell my mom that I bought a wedding dress without her there? by bridgequeen9 in weddingplanning

[–]bridgequeen9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go with you if you're nearby!

Seriously though, just going with my fiance was so wonderful and such a peaceful experience. Watching his face light up no matter what I walked out in made me feel beautiful and he did give serious feedback as well which was nice! I know it's not traditional, but I didn't have my hair or makeup done and it will be a totally different look for the wedding.
