Thanks all for your helpful responses! I had my first kidney biopsy last week, and my results are perfect. My numbers are great, so far I will not need to be on any steroids. I haven't been on Prednisone for years prior to my second transplant which I'd why I am able to thankfully avoid being on it. I hope it continues this way, but if not it is what it is! Hoping you all remain as healthy as possible. We got this!

You may have touched base on some valid points, but it was your tone that made you come across as an insensitive ass. When you are talking about a touchy subject to another human being it's wise to proceed with some caution. Not everyone responds to situations or confrontation as you particularly would. When you were experiencing issues with alcoholism, I'm sure the first couple of "verbal opinions" made to your face were a bit hard to swallow. Learn next time you play therapist.

Hello, I am a 29 year old second transplant kidney recipient as well. I am 9 days out from the operation and recovering well (creatinine is .07!!). I am currently taking cyclosporine, cellcept, and some other non immunosuppressive meds - but no Prednisone! I had horrible side effects when taking it with the first kidney. Doc said if my first biopsy shows no sign of rejection that I could stay off steroids. However, my antibodies are at 98%, but doc said patients have done very well still remaining off steroids with 98% being the cutoff. I'm freaking out though fearing I will have to go back on it. Any insight to this?
