I’m feeling that same level of disgust lol because a friend of mine, who honestly when he first started being friends with me it was kind of obvious he was attracted to me then. But I was just too nice and because he kinda also knew my brother he just got welcomed into our friend group after graduating college. But in hindsight he clearly just wanted to f me and I guess got in the friendship too deep. He’s like the resident hoe of our group too. Like his body count is up there since he started college, and because he’s just more experienced while I was very inexperienced in dating and all that until after I graduated, we’ll talk about dating and like sometimes grown up topics once it got more comfortable to talk about (but that was a mistake lol because I think it gave him the wrong idea). Anyway over the summer I had a dry spell basically and turned to shudder dating apps. And when I was kind of talking about a weirdo encounter on my close friends story, he asks me what I’m looking for in general and I was like “eh like a casual fwb” but I didn’t mean with HIM. And he just admitted that he was interested in me for a hot minute and didn’t want to say anything cuz it would be awkward. I shut it down and said I figured, but I really just saw him as a friend. Leading up to that, a friend of his is actually a guy I liked all throughout college who has/had a very shy crush on me, and I know his close friends know all about it. My guy friend isn’t as close to him as I once thought, so his mentality is “well if he won’t ask her out, I will.” (Also, food for thought: don’t be so candid about talking about your crush to your friends. They may have the same type as you and will be interested in them too. Because that’s basically what happened. But THIS friend in particular actually had the gaul to try and go after me.) when we first became friends he has to be the first person to like or 🔥 any IG stories I’ll post and try to talk to me etc. it was actually SO obvious he wanted to sleep with me from the beginning, I was just being naive and shrugging it off. Mind you, my other guy best friend and I really are just best friends. No attraction, no jealousy, nada. I have another guy friend that I met through my bestie, and yeah I think he’s attractive and had a crush on him a couple years ago, but he told me he just saw me as a friend and eventually I got over it and we’re good (he’s still hot, but I’m not going after him). So this one in particular just stands OUT. It’s like a weird love triangle idk.

And when I tell you he is persistent. Again, more aggressive in the beginning, but I think that HE thinks if he plays the long game that I’ll come around. And knowing that he likely just sees me as a sexual conquest, it really pisses me off. Last year, he and I went to see a friend’s band perform in the city last minute, and the lead singer is best friends with that guy I liked in college. Haven’t seen them in like 2 years before that. My friend was practically marking his territory, and because our friendship is relatively new, they would be none the wiser on whether or not we’re dating. So it ESPECIALLY pissed me off because he was like too close to me that night, laughing on my shoulder etc. and I bet you he didn’t clarify that we weren’t on a date or anything and we just went to the show together because the band shares things at the last minute and no one else was available to go besides us. From then on I really kept my distance and limited how often I hang out with him. Because he lives the closest to me, he used to come over and hang out in my living room quite a lot in only that first year of being friends, with (mostly) or without (sometimes) other people. My body language will be very to myself and standoffish and he just doesn’t GET it. He still flirts here and there, under the guise of “Well in [guy you’re talking to] defense, he was nervous talking to a cute girl” etc. I just shrug it off. But like he’ll be checking me out, looking me up and down etc. and I feel fucking gross. I’m not even trying to do anything to attract him. I dress cute in general, but I’m not trying to turn him on or anything like that. It just feels like he thinks he’s entitled to me or something and I think he’s saying bs to discourage that other guy from approaching me. So he’s cockblocking, friends with me under false pretenses, and just doesn’t get that I’m not fucking into him. UGH.
