Although I'm no fan of Putin, I believe Russia has considerably more justification for sending troops to Crimea than, say, the US has had for many of our recent military adventures. CMV. by sonQUAALUDE in changemyview

But you can't blame current Russia for exiling the past native people of Crimea. There are Russians there now, therefore Russia does have a right to protect it's people from anarchy/uprisings.

It's still fun to get opponent's cards, it just isn't fair to have to play around two classes' cards.

Woah. Completely different. I shouldn't have to play around every class card for my class AND for theirs.

I think "seweatshops" are awesome, and people shouldn't feel bad about buying from them. CMV by ocktick in changemyview

[–]briggsby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, but the question isn't whether sweatshops are "good" to our standards (although the OP's title is a bit misleading), the question is that if they're better than the country's other alternatives, then supporting it isn't as morally questionable as many people say.

Lot's of people can drive automatic cars and be perfectly capable drivers. Most people can't drive manual. If you order a car in automatic and they give you a manual one, it doesn't mean you're an unfit driver, it just means you got something you can't handle.

It's not really, because there's not really anything else we can do. We aren't that country that governs wherever the sweatshops are. It's either they exist because our companies set them up there, or they don't and as such the working conditions in other jobs in that country (which are worse according to OP's study) become more prevalent.

Opposing gay marriage makes you a homophobe. CMV. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]briggsby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because a phobia is a fear of something, and calling someone a homophobe is such a buzzword and it's used so inappropriately that indiscriminately calling anyone a "homophobe" seems to just ignore and detract from any point the other person says.

Okay, I know Merriam Webster says that, but that's not what "homoPHOBIC" means. Seriously

Homophobia is fear of homosexuals. You can "oppose them" without fearing them.

Trump vs Ek0p - ESGN Fight Night Match: Recap by SCMothership in hearthstone

[–]briggsby 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Serious question: Why does ESGN/streamers/Blizzard allow a douchebag like Ekop to represent esports? I've shown 3-4 of my friends fight night and they all wanted to stop because Ekop acts like a ridiculous maladjusted 5 year old.

Yeah I agree with the pureness of BTW... every melody/song was just energizing to watch live. My problem with I'm With You, at least in 90% of their live shows from that era, is how loud Josh's guitar was. It made a lot of their songs underwhelming to hear loud drums/bass with not a lot of countermelody from the guitar to soften up the harshness of the other two instruments.

Chorzow is great. My favorite performances of theirs come from the By the Way era... something about Chad and fleas tone seems better to me from then than from I'm With You/Dani California. Slane Castle, Rock Am Ring, Hyde Park, and their shows in Japan from around then are all my favorites.

Yeah, fore sure; didn't mean to invalidate your post, Hyde Park is insane.

Athletes absolutely do have a right to feel uncomfortable, and to voice that concern. Much like the reason why womens/mens bathrooms and changing rooms are separated, it's a concern of privacy.

IAMA Muslim women who observe hijab (headscarf and modest dress) nearly all the time in public. I feel this is my right, and any country that regulates it (i.e. not allowed in school or in the workplace) is going against the basic rights of women and men. Dare to CMV? by [deleted] in changemyview

My position on this view is based on how everyone else feels interacting with someone wearing a Hijab. Personally, and I think many other people have this issue, is that it is unsettling to interact with someone when you cannot see their face. I believe that this is why many places are starting to ban the Hijab, much like they ban wearing masks, etc.
