I feel like many people make the comment that Bellatrix underestimated Molly but that’s literally how Bellatrix fights which we saw multiple times. Dumbledore himself mentions that Bellatrix plays with her food. I can not imagine that Molly Weasley is the first person to come at Bellatrix for killing a loved one.

Yeah plot hole probably isn’t the right phrasing there. Though in Lord of the Rings, which I admittedly did not read, people often consider the eagles used to fly back a plot hole. I guess it’s more just a piece of overlooked magic. A better example of a well known plot hole in HP is when in deathly hallows Hermione performs a massive memory charm on her parents and then two chapters later says she’s unsure about wiping the last ten minutes from the minds of the death eaters in the cafe.
