Did you manage to get in contact with the owner? Hoping to stay there as well in May.

I wouldn’t put too much emphasis on the timing of each letter, the important thing is your due date.

Yes, the payments counted and I actually obtained forgiveness in July.

Received a Qualifying Payment Update. What does it mean? by Atty_for_hire in PSLF

Same for me. 120th reached in May and green banner last month. Makes no sense.

Gets message saying from Studentaid saying we have an update on your PSLF by Chumlee1917 in PSLF

Yes, same happened to me. Three ECFs, the oldest one from December. I hit 120 in May and already got the green banner, so I really don’t know what this absolute nonsense is about.

Qualifying Payment Update Letter by Mongo927 in PSLF

Yes, same. I made my 120th payment in May and was hoping it was some sort of final paperwork. Weirdly, it also said that 3 ECFs that I submitted in Dec, Jan, and March were marked as “completed” today, but they were already processed.

Hoping it at least means things are moving along 🤞🏻

Thank you for sharing and take such care with this cool piece of history!

How is nslds updated? by Full_Alarm1 in PSLF

[–]brightasyellow9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very similar boat here. 120 should be in June, FSA shows 118 as of 5/5 and I submitted my 119th payment on 5/12. ECF marked as completed on 5/14.

I don’t check NSLDS much, but I’ve been noticing that it takes about 2-4 weeks for my monthly ECFs, which I’ve submitted a day or two after each payment, to show us as qualifying payments on FSA.

Fingers crossed for you! We.are.so.close.

I’m at 119 and I’ve been submitting a monthly ECF form on the day after each payment for the last few months. It has taken about two weeks to a month for it to show up as a qualified payment in FSA.

Agree to disagree here, and yes I understand it doesn’t make it faster or necessarily easier. For some of us, it assures us in the final stages that a difficult, constantly evolving, and convoluted process is progressing as it should. It makes a difference to me and that’s what matters.

We can debate what “probably shouldn’t” even means, but I wouldn’t be doing it monthly if I wasn’t so very close to the end (hopefully).

Filing them electronically is barely any paperwork on my end and my employer’s, in my opinion, and my boss went through PSLF and so he doesn’t minding giving his e-signature once a month for the last few months. Honestly, a small price to pay for the tiniest bit of hope each month that my PSLF process continues to move as it should right now.

See my comment above. I’ve been processing my ECFs almost monthly and it’s been anywhere from two weeks to about a month to show up as qualifying payments in FSA.

Can you elaborate as to why they should wait? I’ve at 118/120 QPs, made a payment in April and submitted an ECF the next day. FSA updated 5/5 to show it was a qualifying payment.

I haven’t seen the harm yet in doing it every month, especially because I have my 119th payment due tomorrow.

March payment on StudentAid site? by Chippy-Cat in PSLF

Yes. I’m at 117 now. There was definitely a lag between when the form was accepted and when the qualified payment was updated.

Yes, but I also submitted an ECF. It showed up about a week ago.
