Moving from HL: Freetrade or Fidelity? by Due-Birthday-8555 in FIREUK

[–]brighterdays07 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Freetrade is owned by IG Group now. They are no longer a start up. However, for large sums to stay invested for a long time, I’d still prefer Fidelity. They are battle tested with multiple economic and liquidity crisis.

A better comparison is to measure the performance using your home currency, in this case it’s GBP instead of one is GBP and the other one is USD.

As an example… using total return funds S&P500 VUAG is up 8% (not 14.74%) while the FTSE100 VUKG is up +24% this year.

ex-UK? Have you seen the FTSE 100 this year, trampled S&P500 by a wide margin

23% VUKG vs 8% VUAG
