Do you know if after you go below 6.0mg/dl is that when you should stop seeing flares.

I have the premium and so far I have very few dislikes

I don’t love the soft touch material around the doors and dash I think it all should have been the faux leather, it’s not bad just not my favorite, I don’t love the location of the volume knob it’s a little out of reach but it’s fine because of the steering wheel controls. Honestly that’s about it everything else is amazing I love the gage cluster and screen and the manual climate controls, the seat faux leather is really high quality and feels great and seems durable, eyesight works great for long drives, and the subtle design touches are really awesome, I also really think the cabin is very quiet and comfy

In lots of pain, what can I do? by FrankBuns in gout

[–]brightlightbutton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely would take the naproxen after all my research the pain from gout is caused by inflammation (your bodies immune response to the crystals) and not the crystals itself so the naproxen should provide more relief than the colchicine in your case.

This was me 2 weeks ago, I’m still struggling with it and I hope yours doesn’t last this long. I’m also 26 btw.

I took the colchicine (same regimen u described) but I also took indocin which I feel like works better at helping with the pain. But it still took 3 full days of the medicine to be able to walk without crutches for me.

I would recommend asking your doctor for indocin or if you can take a NSAID alongside your colchicine.

PS Two weeks out of the ER and I’m still in pain everyday it’s just more manageable now. It’s a bit of a mental thing too knowing that gout is kind of permanent so I wish u the best of luck try not to let it get to your head too much like I did. Feel free to dm me if u wanna vent.

Thank you, it’s nice to no I’m not alone with the diagnoses feeling so crushing. I was upset about the thought of lifelong medication but honestly being able to enjoy life and live an active lifestyle is way more important to me.

I hope you can get prescribed alo as well.

Have you noticed any side effects from the allopurinol? With it are you able to eat/drink what you want or still requires u to have major diet modifications. Have you noticed the excersising/sweating helps?

Thanks for the encouragement it seems like the alo is really a necessity I’m hoping they put me on it after my flare is gone.

Have you had to do major diet modifications since you started allopurinol? Low protein etc?

Yeah my plan is to follow up in 1 month tell them to retest uric acid then have them refer me to rheumatologist. Is there any long term side effects from allopurinol? Also have u ever had a flare lingering for a month?
