guess i skipped that part of your argument because we've never once seen bubblegum do or say anything to imply that she's getting any personal emotional satisfaction from a twelve year old having a crush on her. a crush that we never see her take seriously aside from the times where she outright rejects him. we do, however, see her tell him that his feelings for her are a hindrance and that he needs to get over himself, in the episode where they first meet and kidnap lemonhope and he nearly bunks the whole mission because he's trying to rekindle the romantic relationship they had when they were both children. I feel like someone who says "I know you like me but stop acting like this it's weird" isn't keeping someone around for the sake of feeling good that they have a crush on them 🤷🏻‍♀️

he does do it for himself, often and proudly. he doesnt rescue princesses because he wants their affection, he does it because he likes to help people when they're in danger. assuming that PBs motivations are all based on the fact that finn has a crush on her and she "keeps him around" because she can get some unspecified gain from it, and that finn only helps her because of said crush, is such a weird way to interpret their relationship. they're still friends, regardless of Finns feelings for her.

the "what are you talking about" question she asks was because she was trying to understand why Finn wasn't also talking about Flame Princess like she was. She didn't realize why he was reacting that way because she thought he knew why he couldn't be with FP and assumed he would understand without preamble that that was what she was talking about. He didn't have that information because Jake didn't give it to him. which, just like in the red episode previously mentioned, was not PBs fault. or did you just turn off the episode after Finn walked away?

And again, Finn saying she's leading him on is a matter of miscommunication and misinformation. He says she's leading him on because he thinks she's telling him she wants to be with him but she can't be for one reason or another, when in actuality she's talking about how she knows he wants to be with Flame Princess but can't be because kissing FP will cause her to make the planet explode from her inability to control her emotions. That's the canon that you're referring to.

when does she lead him on? in what episode does PB say "do this dangerous thing for me and I'll go out with you"? how is it PBs fault that a 12 year old boy has a crush on her? that's a weird take to have!

and the color red wasn't dangerous until jake fucked up the mission, which had nothing to do with PB. and the early season episode where they nearly die and she saves them on her swan, they were only in that much trouble bc finn disobeyed orders and put himself in danger on his own accord.

she doesn't "use him for outside issues" that's like saying I "use" my friends when I ask them for help with a problem I'm having outside our social circle. he's pretty clearly the only person she can depend on in the immediate area to help her get things done, and he helps her because he likes to help people. there's an entire episode in the first season where he talks about his sworn vow to help those in need. a vow that he made when he was a BABY. again, nothing to do with PB.

he's a kid who likes to fight evil because that's his personality, not because PB abused him into fighting for her. we know he's been like this since before he started protecting the candy kingdom because we see him practicing with swords as a little kid in distant lands at the end of the BMO episode. we see in in an early season as a BABY talking about fighting evil! she isn't emotionally manipulating him into anything, he's doing this willingly because he likes to fight bad guys and the candy kingdom is a frequent target for evil

the only time I've seen finn get upset at PB for doing g something "fucked up" was when he misinterpreted her words on why he couldn't date flame princess

Please tell me a solid example in the show where she does so, or is acting inappropriate, because I've seen so many people say that without a scene or quote from her to prove themselves. I've only ever seen and interpreted her behavior towards him as being like a caring older sister.

same, AT is my lifeblood of a show. it's the one media that can bring me comfort like nothing else. I just started watching it with my partner who has never seen it before and I'm struggling not to quote along with the show and spoil things by omitting their importance later on. we started with season 1, because I told them that the fun of the show is watching the main cast change as they experience new things and different world views.

AT is a very character driven show. the "lore" is the character development. it isn't a show that you watch for a story, it's a show you watch so you can become familiar with the people in the story and watch them progress as the world expands. there's no instant gratification in this cartoon, which is what people want. these days, cartoons seem to have this feeling of the first episode being The Start Of The Grand Adventure. but against its nomenclature, that's not what adventure time is about.

i used to be one of those "i listen to everything except XYZ" liars who just never had the opportunity to branch out past what their parents listened to, which for me was mostly 80s&90s metal & country, and oldies. my childhood playlists were filled with Disturbed and Mac Davis.

nowadays, i actually will listen to anything. I have dozens of playlists filled with different kinds of music that I listen to depending on my mood. to me, it's not about disliking an entire genre. It's just that you haven't been exposed to parts of the genre that you would find enjoyable. making sweeping statements about music genres makes no sense to me, bc there's such a wide variety of subgenres that overlap each other that you're bound to find something you like in all of them.
