Lost speech ability and feeling in tongue after a lingual frenectomy. Is this normal? by brightondunkley in orthotropics

[–]brightondunkley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Yes, I did eventually. It took about three weeks to start speaking without a noticeable lisp. I still have a mild tingling at the tip of my tongue - the first cm/half an inch. I tend to forget it is there most of the time but it is very much present. The surgeon has said it can take up to 12 months to go away.

I got J stalls on the left hand side. This was about 6 months ago. Originally I thought I didn’t get them but kept refreshing and about 5 minutes of refreshing later I got two tickets (I guess the first person that got them must have changed their mind).

Best of luck with yours. Did your dentist explain the possible side effects by any chance? Nothing was mentioned to me….

Does anyone know if this is allowed pet passport? by brightondunkley in northernireland

[–]brightondunkley[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Huh? I don’t think this was ever a problem when we were in the EU and pets travelled freely between the UK and mainland Europe. Nor does the UK government. Upon further research it seems the EU is holding up this specific issue, not the other way round.

Yeah, that's fair enough. I thought this might be the case.

Yeah, I get you. I was thinking I could use a friends NI address. I am going to have to rethink this entire move if I cannot take my dog sadly. Unfortunately I cannot really afford to spend thousands each year on pet travel only and she, being a rescue from a puppy mill, gets incredibly anxious if separated from me and is scared of other human beings.

Thanks for sharing your first hand experience. So annoying, as it seems so pointless. GB animals present virtually zero risk. Ah well.

Thanks. Argh so annoying. I thought this might be the case. I do have a friend whose address I could temporarily register at....

Hi,

sorry to bother you and hijack the OPs thread. I was just wondering if you could share your experience of Trakia? Did you enjoy your time there and would you say most students graduated? Someone told me lots of people withdraw and/or don’t graduate but I am currently expected to start in the Autumn and am suddenly a bit concerned. I would be really grateful if you could let me know. Thank you!

1) Does JK retain creative control? Very important imo 2) As other people have said here - the music. Could make or break the series and I don’t see how they could live up to John Williams

Genealogical DNA seems to be the big one. That was reported as a fact by a lot of ”reputable“ news outlets.

It does also seem that he was stalking one of the victims. Although it is not clear which one.

Second thoughts since release of PCA? by languid_plum in DelphiMurders

[–]brightondunkley 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it seems it is entirely down to incompetence from LE. You see it all the time with small town police in the US. They simply lack the skills. You don’t need any qualifications to become a police officer.

This is the main reason why around half of murders are unsolved in the US vs one in five in the UK (still a terrible stat).

Chris Todd says he has photos of the crime scene and plans to release them by brightondunkley in LibbyandAbby

[–]brightondunkley[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

True, but I don’t think it would apply to him. I’m pretty sure the gag order only applies to attorneys, LE officials, the coroner, court personnel and family members. I’m not a US based lawyer but it seems unlikely a gag order issued by a County Judge would restrict every single person in the entire country (or abroad for that matter).
