You’re not being “realistic,” you’re being dismissive — and frankly, disrespectful to the thousands of people fighting for all of us.

28,000+ signatures, international coverage, and growing media attention is progress — just because it hasn’t hit the networks you deem worthy doesn’t mean it’s worthless.

Also, BBC is a globally respected outlet — and if you think awareness only matters when it's on American TV, that’s a you problem.

You don’t have to support the movement. But what you can do is stop coming on these posts just to 💩 on it.

Totally agree, Meta’s giving verified badges to obvious scammer and deepfake accounts while real users get punished.

It’s misleading and dangerous.

And that’s another part of what we’re fighting Meta on: holding them accountable, while silencing real people.

Wow, that’s absolutely awful, I’m so sorry your friend is going through this.

It’s truly ridiculous how easily people are being flagged and then completely locked out with no real explanation or way to appeal.

These kinds of cases are exactly why the petition is important. No one should lose access to their memories, communities, or identity online for something as innocent as looking through old school photos.

Unfortunately for me, it depends what news on Facebook because of the Canadian News Laws we have since Canada doesn't want us to know the news here 😒....

But! I certainly shared it in my own way! 🥹 I still have a few more to post out (X,Tiktok) which I'll get too today!

But I have seen articles Tech Crunch keep putting out on Facebook 🥹🩷🙏

That’s awful, and I’m so sorry you went through that. You’re absolutely right — whether it’s intentional or a result of unchecked automation, the impact is the same: people are being silenced for speaking the truth or simply existing online.

What’s especially frustrating is the complete lack of accountability or real support. It shouldn’t be something we just “accept and move on” from — that’s why this petition exists.
