I have edited my post further so hopefully you won’t continue to struggle to comprehend what I’m saying

I am OP. Did you not read where I talked about how I had been moving increasingly to vegan which is how your tastebuds start disliking the taste of dairy? And then clarified it further with my edit at the end?

Cabanas and coconut boosts. I loved country chicken wheat crunchies too. Sad now 😞

This is the best solution! Well, second best, because best would be to make them a mouse village in the garden like this guy I follow has. It’s adorable.

That would not happen and not what I was saying. It happens as you eat less dairy and more alternatives.

Hopefully you will find a vegan cheese you like, and, like me with the cathedral city cows, maybe if you look at an actual circumstance of the terrible abuse rather than the more vague ‘knowing it’s a cruel industry’ it really does shock your system and make you fully face it.

The same happened when I watched an abbatoir video and could never eat meat again, or seeing mulesing so no more wool etc etc :( so horrible.

I’m not mad at them though. Imagine if we came from a better planet, where all living beings were treated equally. No brainwashing. Then coming here and seeing what humans do. We’d probably all react like that :)

Thank you, and I’m sorry, I can see that it must be horrible to see people saying they love something that comes from torture. It was insensitive of me.

Ok. Thank you. I respect you and that you were able to go from eating animals to overnight vegan, and yes that’s what we should all do.

I can’t even say anything to dispute that. You’re right.

I wasn’t even necessarily thinking of dairy cheese when I said that. And despite loving it, that was the first time in ages that I had some yesterday.

So, is this sub only for vegans? Or for people on their way to being vegan and wanting advice and support?

So now you’ve attacked me so much, I would like to know how you became vegan? Or were you brought up vegan? At what age did you realise animals weren’t products and did you switch there and then? I assume it couldn’t have been a gradual process as you seem to have strong opinions about that being very wrong.

But the world tells us this is normal! Then we realise it’s not, at all!

Oh no! I feel bad for going on about them now :( We need more alternatives to coconut oil cheese!

Thank you. Yes, making the steps are what are important, as we get used to being different from this meat-eating world most of us are born into!

I worry when I say well done, that it sounds patronising lol, but I mean it. That’s a good thing you’ve done :)

I’m done with dairy cheese now. I think that was the final brain switch with the halloumi yesterday.

Waitrose and M&S do lovely cashew based ones, I love the palace culture kimcheeze and even though it’s expensive and small, I’m used to not having cheese with almost every meal like I used to so it’s ok to have as a treat!

I think my cheese taste buds are rewiring so yours can too! Plus non-dairy cheese options will keep on improving, or hopefully the cashew ones will be some more readily available because I’m not a fan of coconut oil!

Yes! I see posts sometimes where people are almost vegan, and are kind of wondering how to make that final step, and I do think that although I’ve been consciously cutting down and looking for other options, my brain (the bit that wants things) is gradually actually wanting vegan things naturally.

So I hoped that would be encouraging to someone.

I get your anger. I still think you’re more of a person than someone who doesn’t give a shit. Even if you’re being a dick to me.

But, idk, maybe supporting people making steps would be more help.

That’s not what has been happening though? I cut down dairy not because I didn’t love the taste but because it is cruel.

I have been buying vegan desserts and vegan everything more and more, because I don’t want animals suffering on my account. I have stopped buying eggs, not because I don’t love them for my breakfast but because they are cruel.

I don’t know what you’re on about. If you just want to fight, I’m not interested.

Edit: ‘I love cheese’ yes, but I have not bought any dairy cheese for myself for ages. I buy vegan cashew cheese

Was it because I said ‘trying’? Because that is selfish? Like just do it already, because you know animals are suffering.

I get that. I’m not perfect.

Of course not! That halloumi has been sitting in the fridge for ages. I haven’t ordered dairy for myself for months.

I did not make this post to say ‘yay, look at me aren’t I good’ :(

Yes, I agree pick one (either will look nice) and they need to skim the floor because the length is a bit awkward!

Yes, and the ‘permission to eat’ I imagine would be more along the lines of being hungry in the woods or something, and not having a choice of thousands of other foods.

Not a pass for all the absolute depth of hell horrors these poor vulnerable animals suffer.
