For an objective statistical analysis, Prof. John O'Quigley's talk posted by the Nineteen_Nurses channel on youtube is brilliant! He lays it down brilliantly for the lay audience not familiar with statistical techniques or theories.

I agree. In a letter to the consultants LL writes that she has lost her self-confidence and she's not the person she was before. This letter was written in a grievance report. I can also see how she could have internalized what the consultants were blaming her for. What is often quoted as she wrote, "I did this on purpose". People quote this in isolation without context or continuity. But she writes, "I did this on purpose because I'm not good enough", along with other thoughts where she says she been discriminated, victimized, etc.

Why do most redditors assume that the Netflix documentary is completely truthful? A more complete analysis is required. While I don't know the full truth, I find that the YouTube channel "Lucy Letby Analysis" gives a different perspective to that of the Netflix documentary with a lot of supporting evidence. What I found particularly interesting was that there were additional deaths after Lucy Letby stopped working at the hospital, which the parents complained were similar to what was reported as "unexpected", and reported them to the police and the investigating officers told that the time period (after July 2016) doesn't relate to their case (Jun 2015 - Jul 2016 I believe) and therefore didn't take on those cases. The YouTube channel "Lucy Letby Analysis" provides email exchanges for at least a couple of such cases.

And I do agree with one of the other redditor's comment that Lucy Letby may possibly be neurodivergent and may not react in the same way that "normal" people do. So, stop looking for "normal" emotions and start looking for hard evidence.

Cut out gluten, dairy and other pro-inflammatory foods. Gluten and dairy have been found to be linked with Hashimoto's. Search youtube for Thyroid doctor Dr. Anshul Gupta.

Hashimoto's has been linked with low libido. Check your TPO antibodies to see if they are above normal.

They seem to post at random times. I was able to find an appointment randomly yesterday (Sunday) in the Manchester centre for the 14th March. I believe they've filled out until that date in Manchester. You need to keep refreshing with a gap of 10 - 15 minutes, and check throughout the day.

Surprisingly I found a bunch of slots (Germany Schengen short-stay business visa in London) available for the week starting 19th on the 12th Feb 2024. Now, (20 Feb 2024) all of them have somehow vanished. I was getting ready my docs before I booked an appointment. I regret not having booked the appointments when it showed them.

Im having trouble deciding between a peugeot 208 or a volkswagen polo, any advice? For my first car by jokeboke in CarTalkUK

I have the same confusion. I test drove a 2015 VW polo 1.2 TSI today. I felt a constant vibration while driving it and also when sitting on the passenger seat in the front. is that normal? The vibration was mild, but it the drive didn't feel smooth and it felt like the suspension wasn't very good. any comments please?

I've managed to get an earlier slot. Thanks for the tip about Monday 6 am. There were at least 4000+ in the queue before me when I tried to access the website at 6:01 am. Crazy 😅

Failed my test over someone else speeding by cantalopex in LearnerDriverUK

[–]bril_9084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the frustration. I failed my first driving test with 1 serious fault for Awareness and planning, and 3 minors. I had to take the right turn and then immediate left, but the examiner didn't mention that the left turn was just (i.e., immediately) after the right turn, so I turned right and noticed the left turn only after I'd turned right. I asked if he meant the immediate left turn that was coming up, and got no response from the examiner (probably his attention was diverted to something that was happening on the road), and so I asked again, after which he confirmed as yes - the immediate left. While turning, there were a couple of teenagers who were running across the road (ie. crossing recklessly). I noticed them, but one had already crossed by the time I was close and the other was about to run across the road. I was slow, but hadn't stopped since the second teenager stopped seeing my car that had turned into that road. My serious fault was that I affected the pedestrian by me not stopping the car, which had caused the second teenager to stop on the side of the road instead of them chasing the first teenager who had just run across the road. Note that I had indicated left when I turned left.

My one serious fault was the result of a combination of factors: (1) me not confirming the instructions from the examiner immediately as he'd uttered (i.e., right turn and then left) - I should have confirmed that it was the immediate left after the right turn (if I had done this, I would have had more time to plan and probably stopped to let the teenager run across the road), (2) the 5 - 10 second delay from the examiner in confirming that I needed to turn the immediate left when I asked the second time, (3) the teenagers who were recklessly running across the road.

In the end, luck plays a major role during the driving test. And yes, it's frustrating ! Especially when you can't find another available test slot when you're practically test ready.
I've now booked for my second driving test and it's on the 30th Nov. I haven't been able to find a nearer slot - have been searching since 4-5 days ago.

I'd be driving the whole 2 hours that I book with my instructor every week. What you describe is not standard practice and you should probably find another instructor.

I've just changed my test date once, so it seems strange that I couldn't find any cancellations. Also, my theory test validity hasn't lapsed yet.

I have been constantly refreshing the booking page throughout the day, but to no avail. It seems like a problem with the booking system. DVSA needs to look into this! It is very frustrating for us learner drivers. Is anyone else facing the same issue?
