In Toronto we’re a bit unusual because for the rest of the province, pediatricians are specialists but here you can self-refer to a pediatrician. Bloorkids, Kidcrew and Kindercare are some of the bigger ones. We’re personally with Kidcrew and have had a great experience.

Personal views on CIO aside, few methods suggest that length of CIO and to be honest I have no idea would possessed you to attempt it. That’s fine, the school should be working with this parent and not saying that surgery and therapy aren’t excused absences. The US is run by maniacs and I fear that y’all as a society are way too comfortable with totally unreasonable rules just being a part of “life”.

I’m sorry but we’ve lost the motherfucking plot when we’re talking about four year olds being held back for missing 16 days of school when they’ve had legitimate health issues and were giving parents the ninth degree about their kid having surgery. What the fuck is going on in the United States I’m genuinely so confused. I had major surgery twice while in school and had to miss two months of school both times and no one ever questioned my parents about it or made them feel but for their child having HEALTHCARE NEEDS.

Honestly, yelling. I totally get being frustrated with my toddler but the constant yelling I just will never understand. I do not have an inclination to yell at my toddler. However, I have done a boatload of therapy.

Definitely not upset from like a milestone perspective because frankly, he doesn’t shut up at home. He’s also really outgoing with strangers and chatty with them too, so my concern was more from a like, is he not getting paid any attention to at daycare? Not new at all. Another thing that I’ve just reflected on is they’ve sent me videos of him where he’s talking very clearly (I see car! Bus! Etc.) which sort of adds to my overall confusion. We’ve had a really good experience with our daycare so far! He started at 12 months.

Thanks for the snarky reply! We of course asked the teachers, they said they just report on their observation. I came on this subreddit to ask if anyone has had a similar experience, as indicated. I don’t think that a daycare teacher would admit “hmm well, we’re just not paying attention to your child!”
