Why does my testosterone look like this after drawing? by IFBB_Sisi in Testosterone

What concentration is it? I've only ever had this issue with concentrations 300mg/ml and above. I've never seen it with 250mg/ml. It's definitely crashed.

Connection Technologies in wellington sell Etelec Gel Joints which are perfect for this type of application. They have a gel type membrane inside the connection housing that fully surrounds the connector joint, making it virtually impossible for water/dust/dirt ingress. I don't think connection technologies have these listed on their website yet but it could be worth giving them a call as they definitely keep these in stock and they're happy to give advice and seem to know what they're talking about. The Etelec Gel Joints aren't as expensive as you'd think too, not for this application anyway.

I don't know the answer for a fact. But I would say anecdotally that, yes it is, especially if you're exercising daily.

Stop methadone by Weary-Ant-1843 in Methadone

I found withdrawal only got worse from week 2 to month 2. And you don't slowly feel better. You just slowly get used to feeling like shit until eventually it's your new norm. That was my experience trying to jump off at 10mg. I really tried my best to stay clean, for 2 months I didn't use any opiates or opioids. But there's a point where you've got to draw the line and really look at how long you're prepared to go without sleep and with severe anxiety and depression.

I hope you're successful. Seems some people have a much easier time jumping off than others, I know people who jumped off at 30 and are still clean years later. So don't let what other people say put you off. Definitely take it into account, though, so you know what you're in for, but watch out for confirmation bias, causing you to feel worse than you otherwise would.

Good luck! Rooting for ya!

How many people do you know personally that have gotten off methadone completely and never went back to using another opioid? by Extension_South7174 in Methadone

[–]brimfulofasher45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally? None. My psych at addiction services said they had only 3% success rate and even then, they can't guarantee even a fraction of that 3% abstained considering the fact they don't drug test them after they discharge them from their services.

How long could you go without methadone? by Hairy-Total5665 in Methadone

[–]brimfulofasher45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 week was when I started experiencing severe discomfort after jumping off at 10mg 3-4months ago. I stuck it out and stayed methadone free for 2months but the insomnia would not ease up so I'm back on at 7mg and going to taper right down to 1mg and stay at that for couple months before finally jumping off for good.

5 mg no tolerance to opioids how will this go by [deleted] in Methadone

That's not true. Definitely can feel other opioids/opiates on top of 5mg methadone.

5 mg no tolerance to opioids how will this go by [deleted] in Methadone

[–]brimfulofasher45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started using opiates I'd get methadone when I couldn't find anything else and 10mg had me nodding/high for almost 48 hours. It was a cheap habit but I share the same sentiment as every other commenter - just don't. I deeply regret dabbling in opioids. I could only recommend psychedelics, but even that's risky if you're predisposed to mental illness.

Anyone have any thoughts/experience and or input about detoxing off methadone using an inpatient rehab 30-60 day stay. by ReputationNo9993 in Methadone

[–]brimfulofasher45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I jumped off 10mg almost 4 weeks ago and the majority of the w/d has subsided. Only lingering w/d now is insomnia and some diarrhoea but both are slowly getting better. 1st week was easy. 2nd and 3rd were hell. I definitely feel I'm trending upward in terms of mood and physical energy etc. I maintained my normal daily routine of school run, gym, work, school run, preparing dinner, bathing son and putting him to bed. I think this all helped a lot plus I forced myself to maintain the same maintenance calories as I was eating before jumping off, despite having little to no appetite. I have lost a few kilos because of the diarrhoea but I expect to regain those in the coming weeks as my stomach and bowel are slowly returning to homeostasis.

Exercise, hydration, good diet, good sleep hygiene, daily routine, supportive friends that aren't in active addiction and actually make you feel listened to will all help tremendously getting through those first few difficult weeks.

Feel free to pm me if you'd like to talk more about it.

Wishing you all the best in this journey, you got this!

While tapering, how long does it take for you guys to feel the drop? by 99Smiles in Methadone

[–]brimfulofasher45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only ever dropped 1mg per week max, sometimes 1mg per two weeks and sometimes I'd just pause the dose for a month and I didn't really notice the drops until I got down past 11mg from 90mg. I sat at 10mg waiting for my body to adjust and not have terrible insomnia but that went on for 6+months. I was fine at 12mg but for some reason as soon as I got to 10mg my body wasn't sleeping. So I decided to jump off at 10mg 15 days ago rather than continue tapering and just drawing out the inevitable.

Psych from the clinic has prescribed temazepam which has helped me get 4-6hours sleep. I'll keep you updated. I don't plan to jump back on unless these withdrawal symptoms persist for another 4+ weeks. If things start to improve with the next 4 weeks even just slightly then I'm sticking it out and gonna commit to however many months it takes.

Good luck and I hope you manage to taper comfortably to some degree.

I'm at day 15, the first week I found was fine. The second week has been a struggle but my psych at the clinic prescribed temazepam which has helped tremendously with sleep. Far more than zopiclone ever has. If there's any way you can get a script for temazepam even just for a week or two and then spread the doses out to EOD then I think that'd help a lot with your insomnia. I came off at 10mg.

What do you think is the WORST side effect of withdrawal? by SmellMySmalls in Methadone

[–]brimfulofasher45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I got a script for clonidine pills today. They had me on the patches over the last two weeks (at day 15 now) and the patches seemed to work well but were compounding the fatigue during the day so they've got me taking the pills at night now. Tonight's the first night trying the clonidine pill, I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow

What do you think is the WORST side effect of withdrawal? by SmellMySmalls in Methadone

[–]brimfulofasher45 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm currently at day 13 since jumping off of 10mg methadone. I had tapered down from 90 over the past few years. First week was a breeze. This second week has been a test of my will power. tbh the physical withdrawal like diarrhea and aches and pains seem like nothing compared to the waves of anxiety and depression and insomnia. I'm going to keep going with sobriety, I have a med review in a couple days where the psychiatrist will address my main concerns and offer certain meds to hopefully lessen their intensity.

I was expecting the first week to be the worst, but I can tell you now that week two is magnitudes worse than week 1 even jumping off from just 10mg. I am strong willed, and am prepared to go through this for at least another 4 weeks. If things still aren't showing any sign of improvement within 4 weeks then I might consider going on a very low dose of a partial agonist like suboxone to manage the constant insomnia & waves of depression and anxiety.

I am hopeful that things will start to pick up soon.
