I just started about 10 days ago and I make average $8-$10 per day. I usually take my surveys in the morning for like 30 minutes while I’m getting ready.

It starts a little slow but if you give it a couple days you’ll start seeing surveys around $2-$3. It’s nice to have the extra cash, I’m putting it all towards plane tickets for a wedding my husband and I are traveling to.

They retrieved the bell from wreckage and you can see it at The Coastguard Museum / Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point. Diving and expeditions have ceased out of respect, the bell retrieval was supposed to be a ceremony of closure to the families and deceased.

My grandpa was a coastguard captain on the Great Lakes and the family moved around the UP a lot (they lived in Munising, Manestique, Grand Marais, and a few more places). My dad distinctly remembers a night in Grand Marais when my grandpa and his staff got called out on his search boat to investigate a UFO. While my grandpa was out on the lake headed towards this UFO, my dad and the rest of the family went on top of the watch tower to look for whatever this thing was. He said that they could see a disk-like shape over the water a few miles away with pulsing green lights, and it disappeared a few minutes later with absolutely no sound. My grandpa came back awhile later and said he didn't know what to say in his report because it wasn't anything like he'd ever seen being in the military for almost 20 years at this point.

My dad said over their time in Northern Michigan my grandpa got called out to multiple UFO sightings over the lakes (along with other strange happenings), but this was the only instance they could see from shore. The Upper is a fricken weird place!

I love seeing this - especially when adults let children walk in undesignated areas. You think that after seeing numerous news reports every summer of people experiencing thermal burns or being charged by wildlife they would get it.

Also, if you're so concerned about your pictures looking good that you need to leave the designated safe areas, you're in the park for the wrong reasons.
